Not if it’s the soul draining kind of gastro. Sucks you dry of fluids and usually is a 36-48 hour recovery. So one can only hope he is on the mend and with a good nights sleep can be ready to play tomorrow.

Add some hydralite too then.

Patrons were told that contact with the players would be limited to non-existent and that players wouldn't be signing, taking selfies or having a chat. Some players at the end were skirting the boundary giving high fives. I was concerned that this would expose players to COVID but now I'm afraid I may have been exposed to Gastro. Fingers crossed.

Nice to see JVR train with the senior group.  I don't think he'll be picked for the finals,  but he's got a good build for a 1st year lad.

They interviewed Richo near the goals and asked about tmac, was quick to also mention JVR was a good option for them to have if he is called upon ... was in the best again last week ... he might be ahead given limited prep for tmac

The boys all moved well despite knee bandages on Gus, Kozzie and Trent.

No knee bandages on BBB, Max or Salo, which is really good news.

Here's a few pics from the session.

ADMIN EDIT:

Pics have been move to this posts.

Joel Smith Training with the defenders.

I wonder if they are considering Joel as the med sub as he's able to play back or forward and could, at a pinch and with his pace and agility, slot in on a wing.

Pictures incoming? Please...

Had every intention El D, but not only did I not take pics, I didn’t clap eyes on a single player. Not one! Not even from a distance. Snag duty came first. 😁

Hopefully, your selfless sacrifice will be rewarded with a victory tomorrow night.

JVR, J. Smith, Salem, Dunstan, Bedford in the squad.

Williams was again the most vocal out there, making sure they were taking the session seriously.

The warm up, then grouped into the four corners, short kicks to coach with some run and handball receive. Another drill finishing with hitting the yellow target. They split into their line squads and did their stuff. Mids practising clearances, forwards working the marking bag and backs shuffling the ball around.

In the 3/4 paced, no cotact sims against the coaches (they started with possession, Yze, bog), we had plenty of structure, voice, spread and then finding a corridor off the backline, and finishing with a goal.

Finished the session with some goal kicking.

No Hibbs.

Rehab had Woewodin and Moniz-wakefield,  Moniz-wakefield later joined the seconds in their run.

I couldn't see a coffee truck, there were, activities for the kids and merchandise they were giving away, small flags, plastic cups and key rings with pictures of players on them. Just saw the text from WCW, apparently sausages.

Great crowd, I thought the players were a bit overwhelmed, would have preferred to have a few more spectators at their previous sessions so as to make it feel normal. Could work the other as well, and get them fired up, though I prefer the stability and controlling the environment, plus, gives us a bit more of a connection.

I have more really good shots, but the site won't let me upload any more because it would exceed the "max total size of 302.47 kb". Is there any way to get around this?

I have the same problem, sometimes under 1kb. If you edit and resize maybe they may fit. At the moment my upload capacity is 786 B.

Amazes me that some can upload HD photos. Can those who do it, share, how?

I messaged the mods and they said nothing could be done.

It is why I can't send photos of training. Even after editing and resizing there is often not enough upload bytes available.

Hey Kev, perhaps you should delete  old pics you’ve posted and that are no longer needed. You just go to your account, click on ‘my attachments’ and select the pics you don’t need, and delete.

Use https://imgur.com/ and post the links here.

Does that mean, download the app, put the files on that app, then what?

Use "other media", and insert into post from that url, or go to add files from that app.

Can you give me more instructions, please .

WCW said to clear the attachments in my account, that worked. No need to use imgur now. @demonlad

    DEFUSE THE BOMBERS by Meggs

Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill. A first-time venue for the Melbourne AFLW team, this should be a familiar suburban, windy, footy environment for the players.   Essendon were brave and competitive last week against ladder leader Adelaide at Sturt’s home ground. A familiar name, Maddison Gay, was the Bombers best player with

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out

    GOOD MORNING by Meggs

If you are driving or training it to Cranbourne on Saturday, don’t forget to set your alarm clock. The Melbourne Demons play the reigning premiers Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields this Saturday, with the bounce of the ball at 11:05am.  Yes, that’s AM.   The AFLW fixture shows deference to the AFL men’s finals games.  So, for the men it’s good afternoon and good evening and for the women it’s good morning.     The Lions were wounded last week by 44 points, their highest ever los

    HORE ON FIRE by Meggs

The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals. They brought tremendous forward half pressure, and our newly renovated defensive unit looked shaky.

    REMATCH by Meggs

The Mighty Demons take on the confident Cats this Saturday night at the recently completed $319 million redeveloped GMHBA Stadium, with the bounce of the ball at 7:15pm. Our last game of 2023 was an agonisingly close 5-point semi-final loss to Geelong, and we look forward to Melbourne turning the tables this week. Practice match form was scratchy for both teams with the Demons losing practice matches to Carlton and Port Adelaide, while the Cats beat Collingwood but then lost to Essendo
