  • Going on the DL votes many would be surprised to see both coaches rated Petracca so highly.
  • Other than Petracca and Picket the coaches were all over the shop...
  • Goodwin rated only one of Viney/Oliver, Brayshaw/Gawn.  Reckon it was Viney and Gawn.
  • Good to see Kozzie among the votes by both coaches.  Great recognition.

  • Demonland changed the title to COACHES VOTES: Round 9, 2022

Yes, very interesting Luci.
Last time I looked, Jack Viney was clear BOG according to the Demonland punters, but wasn’t ranked so highly by Goody.  No doubt the disparity relates to team roles and how well they were played in the eyes of our coach, and of course, we are not privy to this information.

Very surprised someone gave Oliver 4, and even more surprised that Viney received 0 from one of them.

Goodwin may have been the one to give Jack 5 and Simpson gave him zip.  Like you I fail to see how either coach gave him zip.

And you make a good point about team roles as I didn't see Petracca's game as BOG or 2nd BOG but the coaches did so who knows what they see.  Sometimes, I wonder whether a fan's view is affected by the camera following the ball so we don't get to see the off ball work so well.

5/0 a funny one, Imagine the 5 was Goody as he loves Jack.

Goody absolutely gave Viney the 5 as Goody puts defence first and Viney nailed the defensive role all night.

I can understand Simos 0 because he would only see the offensive damage caused and Trac lit up with his score involvements 29 touches and 2 goals, which should have been 4.

Goodwin absolutely loves Viney.  Simpson's votes are usually a bit left field.  I reckon Goody went Viney, Petracca, Pickett, Gawn and McDonald.  Kozzy was great.  On first viewing I wasn't overly impressed with Maxie, but having watched it back he was pretty dominant - as he should've been against the WCE no name rucks, and probably amongst the best half dozen on the ground in a pretty even effort.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
