Even after all that has happened and an 0-3 start, I'll still be there next Sunday...

...but will the MFC?????

I wont be till i see some kids playing. Im not going this weekend as i didnt yesterday

im a glutton for punishment... ill be there... if for nothing other than the bull ring.

I will be watching or listening if the AFL can arrange someone to somehow master the marvels of modern technology and provide some type of live coverage via some electronic medium.

Wow that's wrong with our supporters, if things aren't going right for us, they boycott the team...

Its fans like you that seem to revel in the club performing poorly. "Oh, the team is playing badly, so I'm not gonna go. They can bugger off". That is fair weather supporting, and it stinks. If you support a club, and indeed are a member of them, you turn up to their games and scream your support for them. Anything less is criminal, no matter what the state of the team.

Ill be there

backs to the wall stuff..

and our first win of the season coming up

thats exactly right......

I think a few of you members in Victoria take going to most games for granted - win, lose or draw! What about us up here in QLD who get to see the boys once or maybe twice a year? I'd kill to see all the games at the G or anywhere else in Melbourne! Get to the ground and get the boys home for their first win! Someone needs to stay on board! I know I will!

I'll be there, i consider myself a tragic supporter who just comes back for more. But mostly i think about how i stuck with them through the times of 97, 99, 01, and 03 :( and although i don't think it made a huge difference on the field, i know they must've appreciated any support they could get.

Will be there for my third game this year (Missed the Hawks game).

Would love a win, I'll still keep going this year win lose or draw, if only to watch Beamer.

:( you have to have the bad times to really enjoy the good times.

l love the club and l will be their .

just sit back and wait their is light a the end of the tunnel.

what goes around comes around .

glad to know we can count on you when times get tough...

i wonder who will be the first on the bandwangon when we start winning?? hmmmm....

I will be there, hopefully we get a crowd to support our boys when we are most needed

NO Headland, no Carr - starting to balance up - we just need a severe bout of gastro to go through the Dockers and we will be right!!!!!

If we can't win this week - remember the Saints made the GF after being zip and 4 in '97 - oh, but then they lost to the Crows........:-(

what goes around comes around .

But when will the ultimate good come around to us!?

As you say though, you can have good without the bad, hopefully the good won't be too far away.

Go hard or go home. I am one to not lie. I could have said "oh course im going" but i remain truthfull. I am guttered with the team and offered to go if i see some young kids but playing players out of form is just sheer stupidity and i will not stand for it as a supporter. I have paid for my membership so melb have lost nothin...i guess spotless catering have but thats it. Im no different to thoes who leave at half time and trust me many did on sunday. I like 1.5 hrs from the g so get over yourself and realise i am a supporter - both finantually and non financially

Oh and one more thing. At least im not attacking a 2nd AFL year player in Bate. Get over yourself

we aint gonna win if people drop off....get to the g

I hope Melbourne's success isn't contigent on the crowd.

Maybe ND can trot that one out at a pre-match.

43 years is a fairly bad run. I'm looking forward to 5 consecutive flags.

I'll be there in the Redlegs section behind the goals AS ALWAYS. I couldn't live with the thought of Melbourne winning & I wasn't there.

Count me in too....same area ...Redlegs level 1 behind the goals.

Did I hit a nerve?

Two things -

1. Not having a go at you personally, apologise if I insinuated that. But your point about the fact that the club loses nothing by your not being there is a mute point. If 5,000 supporters share your attitude, then the club loses support on the day. Imagine you play your heart out for the team, and look around the ground and see 15,000 instead of 20,000. It makes a difference. Your policy on the young kids is another silly point. The season is not lost at 0-3 as we saw last year. To call for the team to just give up at this stage of the year is wrong.

2. I have never "attacked" Matty Bate. I stated that his confidence seems to be down and that his form probably doesn't warrant him being in the team. I don't think too many people would disagree with that.

I can't believe you guys are even debating on being there or not.....they are our team and we as supporters have a duty to support them through each of the hurdles and also the joys of victory. I can tell you I have sat through much worse in the years 1996 and 1997....try fighting off a merger....losing match after match....

I'll be there on sunday as I have been for many years. It's just a mattar of time before we notch up our first win and charge towards the top end of the table.

I think we'll turn it around on Sunday....C'mon guys, get there and support these guys.

Go Dees.

One of the great stupid posts. Well done Boy, and 'boy' is the key word.

Grow up. We're all disappointed with what's happened but what's the point of your post?

Have you actually got anything constructive to say or do you simply want to see your name in lights and get responses from more informed posters than yourself.

Until you make an observation worth considering your opinion is fool's gold and a waste of cyber space.

Yep I'll be there too! Life is not just about choosing the good times but walking the journey through the ups and downs. True blue!

Mind you it does feel good when we win and an empty feeling when we lose. I see my role as a supporter is to be there for the team- the support crew in the outer.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
