They're not very difficult. I didn't want anyone still concentrating on cracking them while the game is on tomorrow nite.

Not to you since you’re the one who compiled them.

got AA team #1

No idea but Robbie flower was definitely good enough to make 2 of the teams.... JKH on the other hand also made 2 🙃

Don’t need it. Worked it out myself. Didn’t I, Maze? 😉

With no assistance from anyone whatsoever, but can you show your membership card for us all?

All Melbourne teams should have a Robbie Flower in them, but 2 out of 3 ain't bad.

Sure. Just gimme a sec.

Quarter time scores. Team 1 has been solved. Every players has double letters in their name. In fact, they all have TWO double letters in their name but I wasn't clever enough to work out a away to make that the true answer, with single double letters not getting over the line.

Jjrogan, mo64, radar, LDVC and Lucifer all got it, with a special mention to Lucifer who was the only to explicitly describe how R. Robertson could be in a team of "doubles". And an extra special mention to Civil, who deliberately laid off the pace to give everyone else a chance.

Team 2 we have a clubhouse leader. Team 3 we've had some early attempts, but are they correct? The fullness of time will tell.

This thread needs to be promoted, to give us something to do in the (too) long break between Rounds 1 and 2.

And to make it interesting, here's a team made up entirely of Melbourne players, past and present. Everyone is in exactly the right position, even though some never played that role in their life. What am I looking for?

FB: May  Elshaugh  Lord

HB: Bourke  Osborne  Usher

C: Richards  Neal-Bullen Emselle

HF: Dixon  Elliott  McDonald

FF: Oliver  Neitz  Schwarz

R: Petracca  Robertson  Eishold

I/C: Mann  Ingerson  Ellingworth  Ridley

Sub: Salem

(It's another team without the great Robbie Flower - but there is just no position for him in this team.)

My PM to Mazer wouldn't send for some reason (he's blocked me? ),  but I think Team 2 is based on the jumper numbers making up the formula for Pi (3.141592 etc).

I've posted this publicly because at least one other Demonlander had already solved it.

Noooo! I just saw this. Can I pm you?

If this is correct, it would have been most appropriate of Mazer to post this quiz on Monday, which of course was "Pi Day" being 14th of March, or 3.14 in American terms.

Look at you! You’re M.I.A. for a few days then you just waltz on in and do your usual thing of boss-level ownage.
And yes, I know ownage isn’t a real word, except it is now coz you. 🤨

Some of your puns are indeed block-worthy but I have put no block on you so I can only attribute it to A.I. getting better and better.

Who's the D'lander who "solved" it?

The "clubhouse leader" you referred to.  You'll have to tell us who it was.

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Essendon

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
