Happy New Year, Demonlanders!

In celebration, here's my quiz about the 2021 Grand Final.

It's a long one at 57 questions, so make sure you're in the zone when you have a go. I've given the maximum allowable time of 20 minutes.

Enjoy!

Unfortunately the website crashed on me, half way through, showing me all the correct answers. But great effort to put these together

Great job making the quiz!
It was lots of fun.

“Only” got 67% and had watched the replay in NYE, so I guess I’m gonna have to watch it again a few more times 😉

P.S thanks for not quizzing about anything in the 2nd quarter!

Someone doesn't know how to spell Jordon

In Gawny's book, Jordon is misspelled once as "Jordan" which is the only time I'd ever seen that faux pas.

Fritsch gets called Bailey and Bayley in the space of two sentences!

Thanks Dees in October.

I think I will stop doing these. My confidence is taking a battering.

One question that was easy was Lyon interviewing someone who said they would have kicked nine.

I didnt see who it was but even without the suggested names I would have said Allen Jakovich.

And he probably would have.

He was a remarkable forward. But looking at our forward line now its still pretty exciting.

Bbb prior to us had one bad year and THREE years of being one of the best forwards in the land. In a very average team as well.

Tmac is a mixed bag. But when he does fire, he is a defender' s nightmare and he is exceptionally strong.

Kozzie and Spargo will keep improving.

Dogga likewise.

Fritta is the interesting one. If he continues improving on his current trajectory he will bag over sixty next year.

So we had ( still do) a great midfield. Then we built the best backline. And now we seem to have created a very potent forward line. It took a while for it to sort itself out but it really gelled coming into the finals. I'm not sure which forward to be the most excited by. I think maybe Kozzie. I do think this year will see us making over 100 points a game on a fairly frequent basis.

38/57 :[

Current average is 56% so 66.66% ain't too shabby. Also an appropriate number 👹

Scored 37, some were to hard to choose

Went pretty sh*it hey Bingers?’

I’m so disappointed to have only got 38 out of 57. I thought I’d rewatched it sufficiently. Clearly not. I guess I’ll just have to go and watch it again. 🙄

Great quiz, Dees!!!! Thank you ❤️💙

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
