Bayleys off the pack for me, my fist pump is at its most vigorous on that one. Clarrys a close second but for the opposite, an emotional welling up response. Tracks dribble a cigarette paper third for the gobsmacking WOW, that was right over the top of the centre mark on the goal line.

Geez I’m loving these feelings 😁

As a matter of interest, how many times do you have to watch each goal before you're qualified to comment on your favourite? I've watched each of them about 30 times. Is that enough?

Only 30.
They're rookie numbers.

This deserves a thread of its own: Who are the ten posters that faultydet wouldn't place on ignore?

I expect I'm in the ignore group.

Gee you are brave.  The question is though would you want to be one of the 10?  It is very exclusive which is not my style.

No mate.

I dont mind your drivel.

😁

Perhaps not an original observation (150+ posts 'n all) but...

How very nice to have

21

to choose from 🤤

There were five absolute RIP snorters for mine. Our first goal from Trac...off one step kicked the stuffing out of it. Then Frittas leap and recovery. Then Gus's kick which wasn't so much skilful but he normally misses and this one he nailed to put us back in front...it qualifies for his diving mark. Number Four was Trac's dribble and five Sparrow's off a step.

I think Trac gets the chocolates just over Fritta.

Tough call though.

So we destroyed the Dogs AND BT. A fair day's work. Who knows what we could have achieved if the AFL hadn't stopped the game after 2 1/2 hours.

That's quite funny.

I will rate my top 5 goals of the 2021 AFL Grand Final in order.

1) Clayton Oliver's in the third quarter - Bang! Bang Bang Bang! Loved how he celebrated with his finger pointing to the crowd! We were on our way to winning the Flag then!

2) Christian Petracca's in the third quarter - That freakish bouncing goal from the boundary line! It was brilliant! Thanks also to Kozzie for the timely shepherd on Josh Dunkley!

3) Bayley Fritsch's 2nd goal in the third quarter - The attempted mark and then the cat-like poise to crumb the pack and kick a momentum shifting goal! It really got the crowd jumping too!

4) Angus Brayshaw's goal in the third quarter - The incredibly courageous diving mark and the clutch goal that needed to be kicked and was. It was very much awe inspiring and I loved how pumped he was after kicking that goal!

5) Tom Sparrow's goal in the third quarter - Was a great goal from outside 50 metres and was also excellent work by Tom McDonald to shepherd his Bulldogs opponent over the goal line so the goal could go through without being touched!

But yeah, the third quarter was probably my favourite when it came to amazing goals. It isn't called the Premiership quarter for nothing! It really was unbelievable!

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

It seems like only yesterday that these two sides faced off against each other in the centre of the continent. It was when Melbourne was experiencing a rare period of success with five wins from its previous six matches including victories over both of last year’s grand finalists.  Well, it wasn’t yesterday but it was early last month and it remains etched clearly in the memory. The Saints were going through a slump and the predicted outcome of their encounter at TIO Traeger Park was a virtual no-brainer. A Melbourne victory and another step closer to a possible rise into finals contention. Something that was unthinkable after opening the season with five straight defeats.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.
