Among the other clubs to come forward for the Suns' pick 19, which they were officially granted last week as part of the AFL's concession package, is Melbourne.

The 2021 premiers' first pick for this year's draft is No.33 but the Demons are interested in grabbing the Suns' pick 19 in a deal that would require Melbourne to offload its future first-round pick.

So far it's

Pick 17

Yeah, 19 once F/S and so on come into play. which is a strong pick. really curious if we have someone in mind in the draft, or there is a trade to be had there.

Won't happen but would love to swoop in at the 11th hour and nab Jordan Dawson

Still think Brander from WCE would be handy for us.  You will get him cheap, that pick 49 we just picked up would do it.  I see him as a tall forward option, hasn't really had a chance to play that role at WCE.

I agree but it’s a no from me as we are stacked right now for tall forwards. He’d also probably be reluctant given we have Jackson, Tmcd, BBBrown & then Weid already waiting in the mix.  Probably if Tmcd was retiring then he’d would certainly been a strong option.

Agree. He is the one that could be very handy for us, at a cheap pick. I posted as much a while ago and at 22 and 195cms he is the right age and versatile.

OK he might be a depth player but we are in a massive premiership window that we need to plan to extend for as long as we can, adding a 22yo Tall Forward that can swing into the backline or even into the midfield.  Think Tomlinson but younger and moves better.

Rate Brander highly, the fact he doesn't seem to have a huge amount of interest makes me wonder if there is something we don't know. on the surface he should

So you're saying it's a done deal?

Doesn’t look like it we went for Dunstan

According to the Hun Kade Chandler met with the Crows last week.

Should we be looking to draft a replacement newshound to put pressure on Benny Gibson or promote from within the ranks?

  • POSTGAME: Collingwood

Despite effectively playing against four extra opponents, the Dees controlled much of the match. However, their inaccuracy in front of goal and inability to convert dominance in clearances and inside 50s ultimately cost them dearly, falling to a heartbreaking one-point loss on King’s Birthday.

  • CASEY: Collingwood

It was freezing cold at Mission Whitten Stadium where only the brave came out in the rain to watch a game that turned out to be as miserable as the weather.
The Casey Demons secured their third consecutive victory, earning the four premiership points and credit for defeating a highly regarded Collingwood side, but achieved little else. Apart perhaps from setting the scene for Monday’s big game at the MCG and the Ice Challenge that precedes it.
Neither team showcased significant skill in the bleak and greasy conditions, at a location that was far from either’s home territory. Even the field umpires forgot where they were and experienced a challenging evening, but no further comment is necessary.
