Neitz and Miller need to get angry!

I think Neitz and Miller really need to get angry and start smashing into Blokes, they dont need to do this unfairly or sinister like but generally attack the ball hard and smash packs. i remember in 2002 when Neitz was like a man possessed smashing Luke Macabe and Rory Hilton. He just had that aggression that put fear into everyone standing in his way, and the result, He won the coleman. He needs to do that again and i think he can. as with Miller he really has to change how he plays the game, because what he has done so far hasnt had any effect and i think the best thing for him to change is his attack on the footy. i no footy is a hard game to play and sometimes you just get out of form, the pressures on him must be enormous, but thats what makes a good footy player, any one can play when theres no pressure but only the good can play when there is heaps of pressure. i love all of the demon players and respect everyone one of them, but the time has come where there can be no more excuses, if we dont finish top 4 this year, something has gotta change, and it should start with the coach( who i like and respect a lot and i want him to have success) and then the captain ( who can be the most imposing best forward in the comp) but we cant just have people at the club because we like them, they need to get results. We are labelled as the TEAM that Chokes, the team that has so much potential but never lives up to expectations, the team that when pressured and attacked hard will just lie down and die. We will bounce back from last week and we will play some good footy throughout the year, but the only thing that is going to take away these perceptions of our great club is when we our ruthless in our wins and gallantry in our defeats.

 ...They just need to get the ball more often.

You mistaken toughness at the ball with toughness at the man. I dont believe Neitz is at issue on this. Other players certainly are

The AFL is taking a tighter line on attacks on players who dont have the ball.

i havnt mistaken anything, when you attack the footy as hard as you can, you generally instill fear into players and they wont get in your way, this will also pump the team up.

the danger in playing a style of footy where your gettig all angry and such and then smashing and canoning players left right and centre is that becomes your focus. Its not the smartest footy as the opposition will soon pick it and play up to it. Before youknow it you're way down in the frees etc..

Its not smart footy..its just agro footy.

The Dees need to channel their aggression wisely and play a smarter brand of football than displayed so far this year. I for one wouldnt be encouraging Miller to return to his old ways too much

disagree somewat.... this style suits players individually ... this is also evident in all sports..... eg tennis

look at likes of saffin when he plays angry tennis he often plays some of his best tennis.... bit like mcenroe.

but it is a risky ploy as it can have implications..... if things go wrong.

put another way...are you going out to play argy bargy? or play football ?

you can play football hard...and play smart... but i tend to think if all youre really doing is to rough up the oppo...then it more often backfires..

but only an opinion

Yes, I agree that Miller and Neitz need to get angry, but not breaking the rules and deliberately getting players injuried. But get angry in the way they play, eg kicking goals amd playing very well. This would not doubt encourage the team and fear the opponents

We bash and crash then were stuffed. Even if Neitz hit a player and got off, if he were to do it again it would be more serious. Miller and Neitz need to concintrate about scoring. The approaprate bash and crash will come with the footy being near these players. We all saw what happend to davey last year v Saints. And he came thru in one of his worst games (bar round 1, 2007) and assisted in a goal that won us the match...taking nothing away from brock.

It would also assist if the rest of the players had an emotional attachment to winning the four premiership points too!

I thought thats what came with being judged from outside and your club that u should make the top 8. But yes that helps lol

Comrades, more importantly, Miller needs to start kicking some goals to justify his position as our "official" CHF - or else he is a glorified link-man on the wing. One goal every three matches is not up to par in any way.

Biffinator.

miller needs to stop using our games as a tool to overcome his fear of the football, so many times in the nab game and the first game of this season the ball was going his way enough so for him to mark it but what does apples do, he lets the ball bounce in front of him giving an opponent time to tackle/steal the ball right from under his nose, but hey what else can we expect from our star players if they all have a fear of kicking the football, yes peoples its called football not handball.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
