How do we compare to Essendon for the same period?

Funny thing about Essendon - their existence is meaningless.

They've had between 10-12 wins eleven times since their last premiership. Basically half of the seasons since then.

Barely scraped into finals a few times but haven't won one since 2004 and have never looked like doing anything serious in September.

There is no point to Essendon. They're a tepid bath of a football club.

At least at Melbourne you're always going to feel something.

  • May I interest you in Aldi's snow gear sale ⛷

I like the idea that we're elitists who enjoy skiing but would still shop at Aldi.

Miles off, who buys snow gear at Aldi? Yikes! It's Burton AK or bust baby.

Carlton fans by the looks of it. How the mighty have fallen.

Shouldn’t we have moved onto the ‘What they are saying at West Lakes’ thread by now? ?

I hate them like no other club.

I’m so glad to read this about Essendon. I hate them with every fibre of my being. I hate them with unrivalled/unbridled red hot passion. I hate them to a degree that’s off the charts, next level, boss level. I hate them more than I’ve ever hated anyone/anything. I hate them so much that it sometimes scares even me.
Somebody slap me. ?

Cheers, I feel so much better now. ❤️?

Adelaide fans don't or can't think about anything other than the Crows. They probably don't even know who they're playing this round.

So you're a normal football supporter then?

  • GAMEDAY: Fremantle

It’s Game Day and the Demons have made the long trip west to take on Fremantle tonight at Optus Stadium. Can Melbourne make it two from two to start the season, and what are you hoping to see from the Dees under the lights in Perth?

  • PREVIEW: Fremantle

The dominant storyline coming out of Round One for Saturday Night’s clash at Optus Stadium centres on the influence of the big men. The spotlight naturally falls on two elite ruckmen who, five years ago, shared the stage in Melbourne’s memorable premiership triumph.

  • NON-MFC: Round 02

The compromised AFL fixture will get another test this week with the first lot of teams getting a bye after only two matches. Despite this Round 2 starts off with two cracking games as the Hawks host the Swans at the G on Thursday Night and then on Friday Night the Crows host the Bulldogs at Adelaide Oval. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • THE STATS FILES: St. Kilda

As part of the effort to trim the runtime of the regular podcast, we’ve been looking at which segments could be reshaped without losing what makes them valuable. One segment that naturally came into focus was Binman’s Stats Files. Not because it isn’t important; quite the opposite. It’s become such a substantial and much-loved part of the show that it deserves a little room to breathe.

After a stunning victory over the Saints in the first round of the Season the Demons head over to Perth to take on the Dockers who choked in their first match against the Cats. Who comes in and who goes out?

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
