Nathan Jones 300 Games

The way some MFC supporters have turned on N.Jones is a 'F'ing disgrace.  Have a look at what Kossie has tattooed to one of his arms.

Jonesy carried the team for so many games in his career, even if he's a bit off the pace, he has earnt the right to be carried through a few by his mates.

For what its worth, I think Jonesy is still contributing significantly to the team's performance.  Often distributes the ball well into clear space in our attacking goal scoring chains and still stands up strong when it counts.  I recall a key moment against the Saints earlier ths season, when the game was in the ballance, with St Kilda attacking and threatening to get off the chain a bit and Jonesy stood his ground, put on a big tackle/ripped the ball away from them as if he was saying "you're not getting through me".

Congratulations Jonesy on an awsome 300 games.

GO  JONESY and GO THE MIGHTY DEMONS!!

Tear the tigers a new one at the MCG on Saturday in front of the Melbourne faithful and the eyes of the AFL world.

“Naf Jones is my hero!” On one arm and

“bald is best” on the other.

How good would it be if he kicks our first goal tongiht or just kicks a goal and we win. The crowd will go nuts.

But well done Nathan, you deserve it after all the crap you have had to go through. You have believed the group would get better and saw something that us supporters couldn't.

A win would be great.

I'm delighted Jonesy experienced an epic win like that on his milestone. Too often these occasions can fall flat (see st kilda v us in the Spud Frawley game).

I won't lie, I was nervous about him playing against the Tiges but he held his own. Will struggle to stay in the team over the medium term but on last nights evidence i think he warrants his spot against the Roos next week.

I got a bit emotional seeing him chaired off after the game.

I don’t think he’s close to being dropped, people here still don’t value leadership and experience which he brings in spades.

I'm just so happy for him and his family. His 2 kids would have been so proud last night to run out with there dad then see him get chaired off.

Nice they got Neita to present his jumper.

So glad he got there and his experience still helps us in the side.

He will be very happy this morning.

Neita is a class act. Great speech.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.

  • REPORT: Richmond

It seemed as if the whole purpose of the Anzac Eve clash at the MCG between the Demons and the Tigers was building toward that single, unforgettable moment when Kozzie Pickett soared above Campbell Gray and all but fittingly etched his name onto the face of the 2026 Frank ‘Checker’ Hughes Medal.
