They got Scully and Patton for nothing though

That's true, but they were still taking up list spots that Hawthorn desperately needed to be utilised by developing the next batch young kids, not some injury prone has beens.  I can see the attraction to Patton, but to have both him and Scully was daft.

Ah SWYL - The Hanging Judge - predictable comments.

Can you provide evidence that his offences deserved jail. No doubt you would have given Liam Jurrah 10 years in the slammer for his indiscretions.

I happen to believe in redemption & 2nd chances. I have no reason to doubt his sincerity & am sorry he retired.

I guess you never stuffed up in your 20's.

I never ended up in a divvy van in the 70’s or 80’s if that’s what you mean

And I certainly didn’t sexually stalk women

But i was no angel either

If he is truly sorry and recognises the error of his ways then yes it would be worthwhile him speaking to other young men. He has seen both sides of the story so could speak with more authority. He does need to be genuinely remorseful though. It can't be part of some PR rehabilitation exercise.

really? has he?

of course he says he's sorry, i'd be sorry and remorseful if i'd got caught out too

what makes you think he has any idea of how women should be treated

he's the one who first needs some education, not "teaching" others just because he's some sort of celebrity

The only reason he stopped doing it, is because he got caught.

Ex crims who have realised the error of their ways often spend time trying to educate younger folk who are susceptible to crime to follow a different path. there is nothing unusual or remarkable about that.

As i said he has to be genuinely remorseful not for being caught but for what he did. i have no idea whether he is or isn't sorry about that and neither do you.

If he has spent the past few months educating himself then perhaps he does know now how women should be treated. Again i don't know.

And i don't remember saying anything about his celebrity making him any more or less wise or knowledgeable. It's neither here nor there. An unknown bloke in the same position could speak to this issue just as well, better perhaps.

Plus the salary cap space, which would not have been insignificant

A shame for mine.  He claims to have genuine regret for his actions. I would have liked to see him become a spokesman & educate young players coming into the system on how to relate to women properly.

Good to see that he's remorseful. On the other hand you can't put him up as an example of someone who could demonstrate to others how to relate to women properly. On exposed form this seems like something he couldn't possibly be capable of doing.

All men can learn from his ill considered actions and women would be better off as a result

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
