Interesting to me that  he said " ruthless as a whole club"

When you think that the Bulldogs just had their travel schedule altered so that they don't fly and play on the same day and were " outraged" to be asked ...it made me connect the dots a little. Some yes, but not ALL of this is on Goody and the players. Where the [censored] was the pushback and outrage from our president? There is no WAY the pies, the eagles, Geelong etc etc would have sat back and let that happen. There is no way they would have been asked. That single decision to stay quiet  imo  sent this season into free fall. The players were sold down the river by a gutless president.

None of the clubs are using this season or the draw as an excuse this year.  They acknowledge that it is challenging, and preparation is harder, sure.    Have not heard any of the presidents really kicking up a fuss though.  Imo the one chance we did have to kick up a fuss was the Essendon game.  We should have pushed hard for the 4 points.  i believe if the shoe was on the other foot and was Essendon they would have pushed hard and got the 4 points.  MFCSS, perhaps, i don't think we take a strong stance when we have all the reason in the world to do so.

Well, at least ONE did. The bulldogs did and had their travel arrangements changed. You may be right re the Essendon game but right at that point no one knew how many times it would be happening in the year . There was the possibility of multiple forfeits which would kill the TV money. That was a losing battle but playing on the same day as flying was a fight we could and should have won.

Hmm probably right, it is a battle we could have pushed for a lot harder.  On the flip-side now it can be used as another excuse or reason.  What do we stand for ultimately?  Do we stand up to the AFL ever?  No, because they give us $$$.

Last year our draft was compromised due to GC getting a raft of concessions.  We were as much of a basket case of them for that season.  We roll over when push comes to shove.  Just imagine Kennetts or Eddies reaction if they were facing similar...You would not hear the end of it, they would use the media to pressure the AFL into making a decision in their favour.  Something i have rarely seen us do.

Seens that way doesn’t it, pity we didn’t find out about flexibility

Many have knocks on him for being in some way sub par in their minds, but I think if we could clone Jack Viney's never say die attitude, I think we'd be well on the way to the ruthless attitude required.  Jack was the stand out player for us last week that looked like they were trying their guts out from the get go, till the bitter end against Freo.  I wouldn't say he was the only one (Gawn, Clarry, Langdon, Hunt and perhaps Fritsch) we the others that came to mind), but Jack certainly set the tone - what we need is for everyone to have that effort and intensity every game.

As a club we are ruthless in search of the perfect Latte and Biscotti whilst we discuss a way forward.

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t
