Quinton Narkle

Featured Replies

According to Geelong list manager on Trade Radio, the Cats are interested in keeping lively midfielder Quinton Narkle, but it will be dependent on list sizes.

We'll take him off your hands for a cheap price...

ofc they say these things to up his worth, truth is as a 4th year fringe player they're not too fussed otherwise they would'nt be targetting higgins to play abletts role for the next two years.

Surely we can mount a strong case. If Cats grab Smith and Higgins, there is no room for Narkle to push ahead as they will be given priority.

With Hannan and Bennell moving out, we have an opening for Narkle to compete with Melksham, Vandenburg and Harmes across half forward.

Could Narkle play wing?
Seems to be able to win his own ball and have outside run. A preseason under Burgess will give him a bigger motor.

Yes. And I think a 3 year contract would give us the leverage. MFC  3rd round pick at 53ish gets it done. Screw those flea ridden old Cats.

could be the shiraz/beer friday eve combo talking but sounds like a SMASHING idea!!!

is he really all that and a bag of crisps?

it's like the possible tom phillips acquisition; i just don't see anything amazing about this player; he can't make his current side, and in the case of narkle he reminds me too much of anb to get too excited about - he runs around a lot without doing much damage with the ball in hand

i think for some part its not what narkle has proven he can do and has done to date but its teh potential to mix it up and add something different to the mix than what we've been trying in the forward half for the last two years

From what i have seen i think he is creative and can play. The bloke who kicks funny as well as Ablett would have given this bloke limited opportunities.

i just don't see it

based on what we've seen over the last several years, anb's best is better than narkle's

and i don't see the former in our best 22, ideally, so i don't see how narkle is making us better

i definitely think he'd add depth

bump, i wonder if we might look at him late if we can shift ANB and AVB on

Narkle is more your Petrucelle or Motlop-in-midfield inconsistent burst from congestion player and ANB is a link in chain bigger version of Spargo, a foot soldier. Not sure the comparisons are valid, or if you can say you've seen Narkles best yet.

If we had space for Bennells skill, natural instinct and potential, then why do we not have it for a player like Narkle, if he came cheap?

Agree. Narkle is a good option and definitely worth a shot at seeing what we can accommodate

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

It’s late February. Two teams widely predicted to finish near the foot of the AFL table in 2026 face off against each other in sweltering 30-degree heat deep in outer suburbia in a match simulation with fresh new faces and uneven team numbers. There are no nearby sheep stations on offer; the result promises nothing more than bragging rights for the winner. Nevertheless, the loser appears hopelessly adrift, whereas the other seems to have found its footing after a couple of years of struggle – perhaps a hint at bigger things to come?

It was only a preseason match but the new look Demons spearheaded by new coach Steven King looked impressive as they put on a clinic against perennial cellar-dwellers North Melbourne as they cruised to an 80 point victory at Casey Fields.
