Camporeale was seen to be too close to Pyke. No other finding against him.

Wouldn't have thought loyalty was a bad thing.

So what is the real reason behind Pyke "quiting" ?

Poor relationship with a few players and loss of faith in him by others.

Crazy isn't it.

Perhaps the least understood key factor in any team (or organisation for that matter) success is the strength of the board and the how effective its governance is.

It is one reason that i am very confident he dees will bounce back. We are in a good space in terms of our board, governance and executive.

Nice to read a sensible post on this thread. My thoughts also.

I have hated them and the AFL with serious intent since DJ. And that does not take into account the worst supporters in the comp.

I've hated them since 1998 when we beat them by 48pts in the Qualifying final yet they stayed in due to some anomaly and won the flag.

The crows are a shambles.  Still they can’t do mediocrity like we do.

Whatever way you look at it the Crows have serious problems, with no coach, no chief of the FD, assistants coaches being shown the Dorrington and players wanting out all over the place. add the trading period / drafting is upon them.

Oh great it could not happen to a nicer mob.

This is the only team in the competition that I truely hate.

Don't choke on the schadenfreude!

Must have been the camp - glad we didn't have one as we have done so well since.

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
