Thought the umpiring for such a crowded game was excellent. Very few free kicks awarded that I noticed unlike the North v Bears game decided last night by the umpires.

What’s the go with Bedford? He looks pretty sharp at training, moves well and has clean hands but his stats in games are not good. Just can’t get his hands on the ball any reasons?

Frustrated with the boys at the moment. Need some players who look like they want to be there. A lot of the boys look like they treat it as though its just something to help pass the weekend.

Would happily have Lefau on the list before the likes of JKH, ANB, Spargo, Jwags and Billy for the 2020 season.

Plenty of speed and X factor that the others lack and pretty clean with ball in hand.  Knows where the goals are also.  A fair way off AFL level at this point but has weapons the others don't.

Prospective AFL star if managed well.

Agree and well worth a shot but knowing the conservatism of MFC Just watch someone else snaffle him and U and I watching next year and lamenting yet again another missed Gem. Dazzle 36 whats your opinion on this bloke??

He is stiI'll incredibly raw but has some serious athletic traits. For someone that is 195cm tall he has the speed of Jayden Hunt and surprisingly his skills is very sound.

To get some perspective both he and Declan Keilty have played 11 games in the VFL. Keilty who's played CHF all year has only kicked 7 while Lefau  has kicked 12 goals. Keilty has been on our list for 3 years and has barely fired a shot. I would be rather be putting our time and development into an unknown beast like Lefau who's already shown he can mix it with the best in the VFL.

I have genuine excitement of his raw potential if put into a full time AFL environment.

Bedford & Chandler 4 kicks between them - no way either is going to be an AFL player, so delist one this year and one next.

Hannan continues his woeful season with the princely sum of 1 behind for the afternoon. He should be dominating at that level, regardless of conditions. He looks as though he is happy just to be in an AFL environment - doesn't want to overexert himself at any point.

Maynard 12 touches in conditions that were made for him, very disappointing. I assume he knows he is done.

I know some people rate Smith, but when does he ever dominate VFL games? He'd likely be a better AFL option than Preuss at the moment, but he is not the future of the club so I have no issue with them playing Preuss for the rest of the year.

Kielty had a taste of AFL, and has given nothing since going back to the VFL. Surely he is gone with so much defensive depth at the club.

Baker should play against St Kilda next week, but it is hard to make a case for any of the others.

So have I! Agree with all you have said, surely the club can take a well considered "Punt"

Oscar Mac didn’t even play.

Wasn't he in Alice Springs as emergency?

Has the mindset of good forward craft already...

“In rugby I was always intense, always on the move, never slowing down, so I like to bring that especially when I play forward,” he said.

“I like to base myself on a real pressure player, an impact player.

“So I try to keep it alive the whole time.

“I like to think I bring that intensity over to the game.”

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
