Sounds like a bloke we're keeping an eye on. Don't know much about him personally, but an athletic and agile backman/utility with a "prodigious kick" sounds great to me.

"EMERGING Noble Park defender Ariel “Dell’’ Lual has signed at VFL club Casey Demons. With half forward Cory Machaya out with a knee injury and on the long-term injured list, the Demons have placed the tall 20-year-old on their books ahead of the June 30 clearance cut-off."

"The Sudanese-born Lual spent time at Norwood in the SANFL. Media reports suggest Port Adelaide had assessed him as a potential Category B recruit. Melbourne Next Generation Academy staff put his name up to the Casey Demons before the start of the season. But with the Demons’ list almost finalised they passed on Lual’s details to Noble Park, which was looking for a key defender to replace Ryan Morrison."

Don't know exact specs other than he's apparently a "tall utility" type.

It was an impressive debut from the young Sudanese player who will no doubt quickly become a fan favourite with the Casey crowd. He started slowly but was involved in some very good pieces of play and he looks as if he could take a number of positions on the ground. He had 11 touches yesterday and will improve when he becomes more familiar with the team’s game style.

Whats hos playing style like mate? Is he quick? Good skills?

Chance to get drafted this year?

This guy might be alright but LEFAU is the real chance. Saw him a month or so ago and was very impressed! Reminded me of a young Michael O Loughlin the way he moves. Would love to see him on the list next year!

Any updates on this guy?

Is he a genuine prospect?

You're pushing it a bit here 'picket'...

O'Loughlin was a sublime, natural footballer who knew where to find the ball, Lefua is raw prospect who still struggles to find it.

Lefua has some great athletic attributes but I'm not sure he will be anything more than a VFL level player.

Have watched Lefua on and off for the last few years since he joined Casey as the 23rd man. There has certainly been improvement but I have never seen him take a game apart. He does have an ability to find the goals.

My feeling is that he would have been a very useful player in the days when the game was played with a little more space.

These days not quite sure

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

  • GAMEDAY: West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have a chance to notch up their third consecutive win — something they haven’t done since Round 5, 2024. But to do it, they’ll need to exorcise the Demons of last year’s disastrous trip out West. Can the Dees continue their momentum, right the wrongs of that fateful clash, and take another step up the ladder on the road to redemption?
