Finally the strategy of intentional fumbling pays off - a spectacular win against the odds topped off with the brilliant execution of a final second plan utilising the fluffed kick, dropped mark and soccer kick which hit the post to win the game with a second on the clock. Ingenious and worth enduring all the pain of watching this plan fail so much this season...

...Seriously though - fix the fumbles (even just the unforced ones) and you fix Melbourne.

Loved the win - two scores with 49 seconds to go - will remember it forever...

It would genuinely be interesting if they recorded this stat somehow, because we have been atrocious in this area.

With the speed of the game and lack of space, being a one touch player is as important a trait as any.

Football's version of drunken boxing, today for the first time in history, it worked.

Jeez how much does Salem stick out in this team at the moment, just so clean and composed most of the time. Garlett, Tracc, and the McDonalds...my goodness, shocking just shocking. Lewis is finished, he offers less than nothing. Thought Wagner was pretty good and Hunt as well.

Hunt and Hore proved this in the last 2 minutes of GC v Melb

Converting F50 entries so much more.

We get this happening we’re back on track.

A clunker or two up forward to take a few contested marks inside 50 from all the bombing wouldn't hurt either.  Would love to see a contested inside 50 mark stat from last season to compare to this one so far.  Never going to be huge but every little bit helps.

Players fumble when they don't know what the are going to do with the ball as they approach the ball. They also fumble when they are expecting contact - timid Garlett, for instance, who is only in the team due to injuries. If you know what you want to do, and you are positioned to get your hands on the ball first, you get it and give it regardless of the opposition.

Salem's brilliant. Disagree With your assessment on Tracc And Tommy. And Lewis is still valuable. Wagner played well for his ability, but hopefully we'll be able to replace him in the first team when other's become available.

What the hell is wrong?  The last phase was typical. We scored despite our best attempts not to! Why are we fumbling this year and not last year? Is everyone so down in confidence? Lack of fitness probably explained it originally but that should not be the case now

Forget the haunting of Round 11 — we’ve got this. Melbourne returns to its inner-city fortress for its milestone 100th AFLW match, carrying a formidable 10–2 record at IKON Stadium. Brisbane’s record at the venue is more balanced: 4 wins, 4 losses and a draw.

It’s been a season of grit, growth, and glimpses of brilliance—mixed with a few tough interstate lessons. Now, with finals looming, the Dees head to Kardinia Park for one last tune-up before the real stuff begins.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
