Wouldn't be averse to a half a dozen paragraph summary after each AFL Game  on this site either. Full bias permitted and would be quite beneficial to the sick, eccentrically needy and absentees. I would read it...

I've been involved in digital publishing for 13 years now, and have been involved in countless website rebuilds and reboots. The feedback is generally harsh and overwhelmingly negative, because people hate change. It can be very demanding mentally because you put so much time and effort into building something, and people hate you for it.

Good read but Ash Browne is a Hawks fan isn’t he?

What’s with the pictures of the St Kilda players?

The first game they covered was the Wizard Cup match between the Dees and St Kilda - the photo is post-match.

When did you start using the Aimoo forum software? That site is still around believe it or not.

We would have been using it then. Not sure when we started the actual Forum.

The site was created in Round 7 of 2000. The forum didn't start until later. I don't believe we used the Demonland.com domain until 2001. We were using a free hosting service until then.

The Match Centre back in those days was pretty cool, albeit clunky. I remember being a young 12 year-old and I was amazed by the graphic which showed a 'dot' for a player which would link up with a second 'dot/player' and showed the movement of the ball on the ground.

Good times.

The days of clunkyness

I still think it's clunky. But that might just be me. I'm not generally interested in the video clips (particularly coaches' media conferences, whether post-game or at any other time) and the site seems to be hell-bent on being video-clip driven.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
