I don't understand why it is rumour file worthy?

Is the implication he was faking his injury so he he could make a movie session?

Is the leggy blonde famous woman?

Is the leggy blonde a famous bloke?

Why would you pay to take a horse to see a movie? If the movie was Sea Biscuit or Black Beauty, then I’d understand. But Mission Impossible?

Bernie Vince gave Lynch a bath when we smashed them earlier in the season. So that match up is a no brainer.

Then we have O Mac and Frost vs Walker and Jenkins.

The big worry is who plays on McGovern if he plays forward?  Hoping he plays back for them with Doedee likely not playing.

He'll play forward I think. And I'm not sure what the plan is.

Joel Smith, I suppose? Maybe J Smith to Jenkins and Oscar to McGovern.

Off memory didn't Frost play his best ever game against Walker in our win over there last year. Perhaps he takes Walker.

I've lost all faith in O Mac taking the number 1 forward. Mind you Jenkins ain't a mug either which is the match up you suggested above..

Yes he is.

One of the game's most over-rated players. Joe the goose goals are his specialty.

Not sure how this thread turned into yet another OMac debate, though.

3AW Rumour File

No names mentioned but a report this morning that a certain midfielder who left training early with a quad strain was sighted not long later at the new Mission Impossible movie with a leggy blonde?

Crap rumour. Could have at least picked a flick that is in cinemas. Mission Impossible only premiered yesterday in Sydney. Lol, what a rubbish rumour. Opens on the 2nd nationally.

Training Wednesday, 25th July 2018

The morning was sunny with minimal wind, though a bit brisk.

The players needed a fair bit of encouragement by the coaches to get the intensity up. Once going, then the talk, the commitment and energy increased. Though I thought it was a low keyed training session with plenty of jokes and laughs going around.

The rehab group had Dion Johnstone and Michael Hibberd (mainly lap work). Included were the light duty players of Neville Jetta, Pat Mckenna and Oscar Baker. Nev and Pat later joined the main group though didn't do the sprint drills.

The mids included Aaron vandenBerg and Christian Petracca. The fowards and backs (Harry Petty, Jayden Hunt) had the usual players.

The coaches encouraged, interceptions, fast spreads and finding the "express lane" during simulations.

The coaches were.also setting up the first two or three kicks into the players. Goody hitting the mark regularly.

Alex Neal-Bullen and Clayton Oliver receiving some physio work on the field.

Plenty of goal kicking practice, sets and snaps.

Oh God. Please tell me it’s not true...

...that someone used the term “leggy blonde” in 2018. Please.

    HIGHLIGHTS/LOWLIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Melbourne traveled across the continent to take on the Fremantle Dockers in sweltering conditions at Mandurah south of Perth in a game that delivered the club both its highlight and its lowlight in the first minute.  But first, let’s start by doing away with the usual cliches used in connection with the game. It was just a practice match and the result didn’t matter. Bad kicking is bad football. The game was played in severe heat, the swirly breeze played havoc with both teams resulting in

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
