Places not to go as a dees fan

Would love to hear some stories of the old days at Windy Hill etc. Those grounds were being phased out as I started going to the footy - so I only went to Princes Park, Vic Park, Western Oval and Kardinia Park. Missed Moorabbin, Windy Hill and obviously Arden St.

Was at Windy Hill when Jacko got stuck into Ronnie Andrews and chucked a beer can into the crowd.
Essendon fans were extra feral that day.
Away games were like going to third world countries after being bought up at the MCG and VFL park.

You lucky Barstard.

I went with a mate who's an Eagle's member, he copped a whole lot of air jerking in his direction after McDonald kicked that goal. It was glorious.

I caught a train at Richmond and on the train I spoke to a couple of reasonably coherent and personable Tigers fans who more or less conceded they got out of jail. So that was quite a shock to me.

Who got out of jail? Those supporters or the team? Or both?

Faulty, in my experience at CQ coal mines, it's actually pretty popular. Plenty of victorians and west australians there now.

And a lot of the locals get into all sports. Buggar all else to do and another excuse to drink i assume.

I've been here for 15 years.

There are a few AFL fans about. The first 2 I ever came across were rabid Dees fans actually.

The further north I go the more I come across, but a place like Blackwater is a AFL desert now, after having it's own comp a decade plus ago.

Just a procession of rugby league boneheads who think a game is only worth watching if it's "tough" and "hard"

Too drunk and overweight to run far is my guess. More alcoholics per square meter than any other place in oz.

Richmond supporters would be unlikely to be paroled after being incarcerated, so I think they were referring to the team.

It’s been a season of grit, growth, and glimpses of brilliance—mixed with a few tough interstate lessons. Now, with finals looming, the Dees head to Kardinia Park for one last tune-up before the real stuff begins.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
