Bad luck with Alizee - not her day.  Couldn't get going.  Picked up a decent percentage of the lesser trifecta in the race so can't complain.

That is an impressive win by Grunt ... Rosehill Guineas is next (possibly)  Big future for the horse regardless.

Good job Macca, yeah Grunt too strong, I had a little something each way on Bring Me Roses. Lucky I chose her instead of Levendi.

Is Winx still heading to Ascot later in the year?

Good luck with your selections guys

It's all pointing in that direction DJ but next up is the George Ryder Stakes (1500m - G1) in 3 weeks and then 3 weeks after that she should run in the $4Million Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m) on April 14.

Then it's onto the 3 big races in Europe,  all going well.  The Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot over the 1600m is first on the agenda but I'm not sure of the other 2 races.  We'll find out sooner or later.

It's still on the radar last I heard. Depends on her Autumn campaign but @Maccamight be able to shed some more light on it.

Edit: Oops, I see you already posted while I was typing Macca.

Nice win from Dixie Blossoms Macca.

Tell me about it Wadda

Came home strong with another trifecta at Flemington (race 8) ... would have been a big big day if 'Care to Think' salutes.  Probably the same story for the other best bet punters.

The thread picked out quite a few winners on the day ... Santos,   Nomothaj,  Aloft,  Hear the Chant & Dixie Blossoms all saluted.  We also made mention of Secret Agenda & Grunt.  It's just a matter of working out how to turn those picks into a profitable exercise.

Macca on fire! Missed out on the multi but finished in front thanks to Scarecrow in the "Get Out" Stakes. It's been fun again guys.

Yep, 7 winners right there. Care to Think and Alizee pretty unlucky if you ask me. Even Winx almost blew it. I was off Grunt because of the barrier 16....but it doesnt really matter sometimes in these longer races...in fact i could almost see it as an advantage because the horse tries to get across early and find a good spot.....oh well.

Yep ... the tried & true trifectas are my bread & butter D77.  I got 2 good collects & 2 small collects but the races involved were those races that included our best bet tips or a race that we've talked about extensively (Race 8 Flem) .

So the best bets are working in a roundabout way for me.  I'm probably going to look at quaddies instead of multis with our picks.  I've never really been a quaddie punter but the best bets are perhaps better used that way.

Both Sydney & Melbourne have early quads as well as the traditional quads and our best bets (and other horses we fancy) fall into those quaddie areas.  I'll probably still multi the 4 picks because we'll snag it sooner or later.

Just a thought.

And well done on the Scarecrow collect!

Yep,  and those winners should see us finding a way to turn a profit.

So Wadda,  do you have a favoured way of doing your quaddies (a system?) or do you just work it out as you see fit?

I had a huge day. Six straight out winners, a good trifecta (the 8th iin melb), a good quinella (in Adelaide) and the early quaddie in melb. Top day.

If you want to see a day at the races without stimulants tune into 10/win at 1130 today, it'll be the best racing day of your life !

Nah....its garbage, compared to an F1 race in Europe. Try going to Spa in Belgium for a day, get yourself a good seat.

Not really Macca, i just take it as it comes really. I tend to go skinny in a few legs so that i can go wide in others. Ive had some success finding a 1 out winner and taking many in the other legs. I also had a bit of luck just picking really small quaddies, just 2 and 3 horses in each leg, i think you need to do it on the right sort of day tho. A quaddie is a multi really, just with a mystery collect from a pool rather than straight out math.

There were a couple of horses that didnt place and ran 4th like Fell Swoop and Cliffs Edge. They bought a few of my multis unstuck along with Seattle Park. Anyway it just gets better from here.

I think we are now 19: 12.4.0

Great work on the videos....Winx was just breathtaking.

I figured that as that's how most quaddie punters seem to operate ... whenever I contemplate a quaddie I nearly always look at the last leg first and then become unstuck.  The last race is often a bit of a lottery.  Might be different in Sydney with the smaller fields though.  There's an idea!

Or ... I might have to just painstakingly do a series of multis involving multiple horses in each leg (with the odd one-out leg)

Thanks for the feedback all the same Wadda - I'm a trifecta punter at heart.  It's my preferred way of betting and because the bets are on individual races,  my interest never drops off.  I'm even having a go at race 7 at Wagga today!

Yeah thats pretty much it Macca. The first thing i do is see if i can identify a winner anywhere in the four legs. If i can i usually try and build a quaddie around it. The get out stakes is always a perilous leg, and i usually try and go as wide as possible. You might be onto something there in Sydney though. I noted the short priced fav got up in the last. Will keep it in mind.

I always used to do trifectas. I went through an amazing period once and just kept getting them. So i always have a look. Its good to hear what others are doing with the selections.

She was amazing these days I just sit and watch her without one cent on her - as they say the more you bet the more you win.

Im looking forward to watching her career in the breeding barns - if she ever gets there!!!!

At Flemington got Nomotaj, Aloft, Hear the Chant and Flippant and snagged the early quaddie (taking Hear the Chant and Aloft one out, Oregon Day and Flippant in the third leg and 10 horses in the  last leg - i actually watched the third leg last, having missed that race. Fun because Oregon Day and Flippant were the only chances 200 out).

I also snagged the trifecta in the 8th boxing up 3 horses ( i  backed Crystal dreamer and i'm Wesley and thought the latter was going to win).

In Sydney i got the Winx trif x 5, Dixie Blossoms and Osborne Bulls and in Morphetville got the etta james Master of Art quinella.

Top day.

That is a good day binman ... I also got the Trifecta in the 8th race in Melbourne as well as in the 7th at Randwick.  The initial dividend showed a 1500 payout in race 7 but because of the tie for 3rd,  the dividend quickly went down to 745.  Needless to say I was tad annoyed.

That's a well thought out early quaddie ... I may try and do the same and try and identify at least one leg being a one-out or perhaps do as you've done with that early quad - 2 x one-out's.

One outs are the way to go with Quaddies. I always try and find 2 and often there is at least 1 standout in the group races. At the end of the day, you have to bet on something !

Well,  I think I've got a strategy for next Saturday but might take the safer quaddie option of the Sydney races Wadda ... I've always liked the smaller fields anyway and that's how I've usually done my trifectas (smaller fields)

There's some great racing coming up at both Flemington & Randwick so we'll once again see a lot of the good horses running around.

Ace High is again up against Kementari & Pierata in the Randwick Guineas (1600m) and that race will be an interesting affair.  And Redzel looks like it's a starter in the Challenge Stakes (1000m)  Currently showing 1.50!

KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti
