State of Origin

Watching NRL... we should bring it back.

Obviously the format is the problem so i propose this:

Played 2nd week of finals (bit of a dud weekend really)

Players from top 6 teams still left in finals dont play obviously

Doesnt matter so much if a player gets injured as its the end of the season and they cant win the flag anyway

Ok so the best players from those 6 teams miss out but id rather have the big V back

Re the allies - sod them off.

Play it like the country leagues play against eachother.

SStates ranked 1v2 play off for trophy

3v4 for right to play the number 1 team the following year

5v6 for the right to play in 3v4 game

Etc.

Win go up, lose go down.

Just my thoughts

The problem with the NRL is that the state of origin series is seen as its 'grand final'.

Last years Grand Final was way better than the AFL one though!

Stopped reading there.

Every year SOO in NRL is played a thread starts up for a recall of SOO. It doesn't work these days anymore.

And to call our 2nd week of the finals series a dud weekend...wow.

You can't manufacture SOO. It ether works or it doesn't. In Today's AFL climate it doesn't work

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
