There are some great footy pundits on here whose analysis and commentary I love to read, but I really don't understand the obsession some have with being - or seeming to be - dispassionate, calm and analytical in their comments, especially in the heat of a game.

I find some of the posts in the game day thread hilarious for their levels of hysteria, but I understand it. As you are fond of reminding us, it's just footy; what's the big deal if you want a player banished to the moon for making a mistake one minute, and then all's forgiven next minute when they do something good.

We're passionate supporters on a footy forum discussing sport, not writing about brain surgery in a peer-reviewed medical journal.

Nice thoughts. Guilty as charged but proud of my passion.

Blocking is for babies.

Harden the eff up.

Silly comment.

You can waste your time reading banal rubbish if you like.  We all have choices.

Demonland is like a car crash - it's horrifying yet I cannot look away...

has knocked that one brain fade per game out and is finding the goals with more regularity. Probably our best wet-weather midfielder also, absolute gun.

I saw Dom in his draft year with some minor injury (don't remember what) and knowing only that he was playing for the Oakleigh Chargers and a Trinity boy, asked him how his draft prospects were looking. With all humility he told me he was likely to go top 10 (he went at 3 I think). That being the GWS draft year, I asked how he felt about the 50% likelihood of being a Giant. He said he was happy to get a gig anywhere. I then suggested in half jest that as a Melbourne supporter I was sure we'd be thrilled to have him at the Dees, or that if he got picked up by GWS and felt homesick later on, we could probably fit him in. Funny how things transpire!

would be interested to know his contract size, and whether the likes of treloar and prestia (post 2017) dwarf it - i expect theirs would.

he's better than both, for mine.

I thought he signed a 3 year deal from GWS but there hasn't been any speculation about his contract status so maybe he signed a 4 year deal or maybe they are just working quietly behind the scenes.

The good thing about Tyson is we've been able to develop him without all the fuss of being the big name/big money recruit.

Hogan draws a lot of attention but with our young midfielders they all share the load on field and off which is really beneficial.

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan.
