I answered before,  but didn't thank you for you sentiments.

 

I like to put this personal information forward,  to let others know that people are in disrepair in their lives,  due directly to others abusing them,  via bullying them at school,  or in the streets. 

Some parents encourage their kids either directly with a proverbial back-slap;  or indirectly,  via a care less in-ferment.

 

Disciplining the kids,  by telling them & showing disappointment in them for being nasty,  helps to form the kids limits & therefore,  they're moral compass....  as long as the kids have respect & love for the parent.

.... if they don't respect & love the parent, they may be aggressive at others to spite the parent ?

 

Some parents will not criticise their children, at all.  a train wreck to come,  just down the road, IMO

It does remind me of the enquiry into the British National Health system approx 15-20 years ago where on of the main

conclusions was that the system existed for the convenience and comfort of the medical staff - and guess who didn't get a look in or matter? 

 

As someone who has been an outcast in my own family because of my determination that my children would, if possible , never darken the doorstep of a Catholic Church ( could count the exceptions to this rule on two hands but then again we do have five and they do make their own decisions) I would like by way of balance to remind myself and all that the Catholic Church is by no means the only organisation implicated in these matters.

 

 I can recall seeing a documentary on the Orange People (Eastern sect)  years ago detailing how paedophiles came to gravitate into this  organisation and how its policy of separating children from parents and in particular sending them overseas facilitated the unencumbered fulfillment of paedophile desires.  

 

 Seems to me that this is a problem associated with organisational structure and while I am no anarchist,  organisations that

require promulgation of their own philosophy without accountability in order to maintain their public image and reputation is what the problem is all about.( for that read preparedness to embrace lovingly hypocrisy)

 In the case of the catholic church it appears to me that these priests and brothers felt that the children would forget what had happened to them and therefore nothing really mattered.

 

A  tragic mistake if that (mistake) is what it was.

Very sorry for those whose lives are shattered and those who have died.

For those who endured and live on, may they find greener pastures in their lives.

The defence for two ex-Marist brothers who face historic child sex abuse allegations is expected to argue in the ACT Supreme Court the pair should not face trial.

Police charged John William Chute, 83, and Gregory Joseph Sutton, 64, as part of Operation Attest, an ongoing investigation into child sexual abuse in Canberra schools in the 1980s.

Mr Chute, also known as Brother Kostka, was charged with two indecent assaults on a male and two acts of indecency on a child, while Mr Sutton faces three charges of indecent assault on a male. 

Neither man has entered pleas. 

 

Their lawyer signalled in the ACT Magistrates Court last month that the men could seek to avoid going on trial for their alleged crimes. 

Both cases were briefly mentioned in court before Magistrate Peter Dingwall on Tuesday. 

Sydney defence lawyer Greg Walsh suggested the cases be moved to the Supreme Court so matters that may prevent the charges proceeding to trial could be dealt with there.

Pope's record on paedophile priests tarnishes three-year report card

 

 

Vatican City (AFP)  -  Many words,  little action: three years after Pope Francis's election,  victims of priest sex abuse are bitter and disappointed,  accusing the Church of having failed to punish guilty clerics and end a culture of complacency on the issue.

 

The recent Australian Royal Commission hearings of Vatican number three George Pell and a preliminary criminal probe into accusations that Lyon's archbishop,  Philippe Barbarin,  covered up for a peadophile priest have reopened old wounds,  with Francis perceived as having stood by both senior clerics.
 

The Argentinian pontiff came to power promising a crackdown on cover-ups and a zero tolerance approach to abuse itself.

 

But victims feel they are not been listened to,  that bishops are still failing to hand criminal priests over to the appropriate authorities and that a conspiracy of silence remains the order of the day,  right up to the top of the Vatican hierarchy.

 

The growing discontent with Francis's record on ridding the Church of the taint of paedophilia is in sharp contrast with how he has performed in other areas.

 

- Decades of abuse -

As he prepares to celebrate Sunday's third anniversary of his election,  the Argentinian pontiff boasts genuine star status around the world thanks to his charismatic,  simple style,  his defence of the world's poor and efforts to reform the Church and bring it closer to ordinary believers.

But despite an encouraging start,  Francis has failed to definitively draw a line under decades of abuse which ruined the lives of tens of thousands of young Catholics and badly tarnished the standing of the Church in the eyes of believers and broader society.

 

Francis has made it clear bishops who cover up for abusers have no place in the Church and has put in place legal structures enabling paedophile priests to be tried under Vatican law.   He also established his own advisory panel on the issue.

But the panel is now disintegrating with one prominent member,  Peter Saunders,  recently telling AFP he felt betrayed by Francis and that he had been tricked into taking part in what he described as a whitewashing exercise.

These old institutions do not understand one aspect.

maybe even worse SWYL,,,  is the possibility nothing comes of this good  (royal commission into institutional child sexual abuse)  in the face of real corruption within the holy sea.

 

I wonder if the  (cabinet)  is overruling their puppet.  the leader of that cabal.   If the senior  'faceless'  men behind the pope,  are undermining him & any desire he may have to clean up the criminal bastards in his church.    Then its possible he is cornered,  & is now just they're puppet.

 

Only seeing actions take place,  & sackings happening publicly,  will resolve this perception of corrupt & criminal activities being allowed to go on unpunished,  within the catholic church. 

By criminal actions taking place in our courts of Law, we can maybe start to start to believe that the church genuinely wants to clean itself up.
