Someone mentioned above about the split across areas of the ground. Here are the averages across the ground for the team I have selected. Shows pretty clearly that we have an inexperienced forward line, an experienced backline with the followers approaching the 100 game average.

I had a bit more of a play at lunch and have it now that you can enter any line up in the normal fb, hb, c, hf, f, fol, int format and it will give you the average age and games played. Would be easy to copy to a new tab and enter any other teams list and team to get the data. I can't be stuffed but if anyone wants it they can take it and build it further.

matched against other finals team.

just to see how the team on the field matches

of course this would only lead into further necessary analysis of the whole squad.

But comparison of finals teams is surely a better measure than in isolation.

Also has draft records, attendances, brownlow, supercoach,and match stats right down to a breakdown of number of players in each experience category <50, 50-100, 100-150, >150.

The other spectacularly useful AFL stats website is at:

This one is especially useful for the longer-term records, as it goes waaay back in VFL/AFL history and has a lot of different curiosity categories like 'most ever marks by a player with a wooden leg' and 'longest career by a player exclusively at University Football Club'.
