Collingwood v Casey Scorpions

Featured Replies

Roosey is here in the stand with family.

Parking right outside the ground was surprisingly good.

Must have rocked up to the wrong ground.

But seriously that's good to hear and if I was playing for Casey that would probably be a boost.

Good quarter by Terlich, Fitzy, Jamar. Also to some degree by The Biz, McKenzie, The Toump. Toump showing some stand out pace in a couple of bursts. Riley had both good and bad patches. Spence had a shocker for mine.

At quarter time, the Casey lead was just 9 points 2.4.16 to 1.1.7 with goals to Newton (on the buzzer) and White.

Max King has just added to the tally to give the Scorpions a 15 point break.

Pies had a couple of kicks inside 50 at goal last qtr that looked like they hit a brick wall they stopped mid flight. Maybe a 2-3 goal breeze?

Toumpas and ANB seem to be amongst it today.... and terlich

Salem did the full warm up and has the track suit on so i assume the plan is just to play him for the second half

Do they have subs in VFL? or are we playing a man short in using Salem?

Either way he is a pretty good sub - hope he plays in the midfield

Poor decision then by Salem. Otherwise in the little I have seen of him, he looks switched on and going hard.

JKH has been more lively this qtr. Seems to have woken up.

Just saw Jayden Hunt walk off at half time. Forgot he was playing - haven't noticed him at all. But then I'm not the best observer.

Terlich had another good quarter with quick disposals under pressure. Jamar was ok. Other than JKH comment above I didn't really see much else to report. Retreated to the Sherrin stand up our goals end for more wind protection while I was battling with a half warm VB (and on a day like today!) and half cool pie. Don't think these guys went to catering school.

Hunt had the first set shot of the game bjdee, but yeah hasn't been a day for forwards of either team given the conditions. As soon as i posted about Salem he came on! Had 3 touches in the first 3 minutes of being on, two of then turnover handballs.

anyone got the score?

stuie?

Any chance of a score?

How dare you guys ask questions...

Sorry I'm having some iPhone issues.

At half time, the Casey Scorpions have surrendered the lead and trail Collingwood VFL by a goal, their only score coming early in the term. It's an understatement to say that Casey needs to lift.

Collingwood 1.1.7 4.4.28

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.

It's Game Day and there are only 5 games to go. Can the Demons find some consistency and form as they stagger towards the finish line of another uninspiring season?
