Casey Scorpions v Richmond

This White guy interests me. Seems to be coming on a bit. Will watch in great interest...

Wins the footy and has a great left foot. Breaks the lines too. Needs to get better defensively but I think he'll be around next year.

It was pretty scrappy that quarter but the club would be pleased with the way young blokes like ANB, Oscar McDonald and Mitch White are coming on.

Whos impress you the most.

Neal-Bullen is the sort of kid who could play straight away. He's physically more advanced than his mate, Billy. He won't set the world on fire but he'll pay his way. A 150 gamer assured.

Haven't seen him play but I have heard this way too many times about our players. Let's wait until he plays 50 or maybe even 1 game before we say a player is assured x amount of games.

So don't get excited over future prospects? Continue to look back at mistakes of the past? Do we really need to take everything so literally on here... He is a tough kid who puts his head over it. I'm not sure how high his ceiling is but he is as tough as old boots.

Guys like Grimes, M. Jones, Spencer and Bail get promoted and suddenly Casey are a better side... coincidence? I think not.

Michie had 25 disposals Mckenzie 23 White 21 and Gawn 20

I'm being very simplistic with what I'm about to say but White looked like a skillful player in his highlights video last year and is now winning the footy in the VFL 1sts. Do we have a player here?

I love left-footers!

Grimes, M Jones, Spencer and Bail didn't play last week.

Were Casey a better side? Apparently not

If Casey kicked straight last week they would have won, and the coach said the team played very well.

No idea why I'm defending my comment, it was more tongue in cheek if anything.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
