That is unbelievable from the "Duke" They are asponsor!!

The game is on for 3 hours.

The Audio should be pumping. I thought it was our "city" presence???

The MFC is still being marketed very poorly.

It's not the MFC's responsibility WYL, as much as you want to blame CEOs and Presidents for everything.

Simply the fault of the useless manager at The Duke.

The Bentleigh Club is a good place to watch the game. The crowds have swelled from as low as half a dozen in recent years to 40 to 50 as previously said. Unfortunately the MFC as always misses a great opportunity to build a supporter base. Come on now, what about some tea, coffee, and biscuits maybe so e party pies and heaven forbid a few ex players or officials come down and represent the Club.

I recall a few years ago there was some finger food and coffee for a game, you could also get discounts there through your membership. So yes, it appears that the club has backed away but the Bentleigh Club itself still seems proud of the association

Watched the game at The Duke. About 60 or more Dees supporters, about 5-10 other people, yet they refused to put the audio for the game on, favoring some cheesy funk music instead. Was told that was by order of management. Pretty poor from a placed that advertises they show MFC games and is a sponsor. Definitely won't be back.

Didn't the funk enthusiasts complain that the 60 fans yelling at the screen was ruining the ambience?

well it should be the responsibility of the MFC. It is promoted as the Pub to go to.

The MFC don't own or run the pub mate.

This is more a manager issue mate. Club will say they want the game shown and thats it. Small little issue like turning the volume up comes back to the manager.

So hire a manager who will turn up the sound

Put exterior Audio outside near the door so People KNOW it is on

It's called promotion....

Mate, the MFC don't have anything to do with the running of the pub, it's run by a hospitality company, who also have their head office above The Duke, so rest assured this was 100% their decision. Also, they're not allowed to have external audio. It's called the law...

I used to go the Leighoak in the through the 2000's, and it was fine for the purpose, although numbers dropped off when the side started stinking it up. They used to film DeeTV there too, and that was a good environment.

I went to Bentleigh Club last week for the first time in at least a decade and was fairly underwhelmed by the experience. The TV was blurry, and the only way I found the room was by following other people - there was no signage and nothing to indicate that the game was being shown. Still, the atmosphere was okay and I didn't feel obliged to buy drinks or food to stay.

That is extremely poor form by the Duke and is a sure way to stop MFC fans coming back, on game days or otherwise.

I went to the Duke with the lady and was glad the commetary wasn't on, I never listen to radio at games either, can provide my own commmentary, just enjoyed the 10% discount on everything I purchased

Why do supporters need commentary, never understood this?

Don't even have it on at home if I watch a TV game

With no commentary, was able to keep calling Dangerfield the Dolphin, for all his diving, annoyiing the [censored] out of the Crows supporter sitting next to me

Also been to Bentleigh Club, it is a suburban club in a leafy street, not King St or the Las Vegas strip, what do people expect?

Off the ball things the camera doesn't see, stats that are read out, atmosphere.... Not everyone loves the sound of their own voice as much as you obviously TDI ;)

Another good option is Baden Powell on Victoria Parade. Amazing grub, sensational pizza, and a big screen.

Again, it's hit and miss with what games they're showing.

They probably sell most or all of that stuff. They're running a business, I don't use their gambling machines or drink much, so don't feel they owe me feebies. I always buy a full meal (very good value anyway) and a drink, to contribute to their coffers, but don't feel any pressure from staff to do anything. They're fine, plus it's good to watch the game in a room full of Melbourne supporters.

Everyone to their own I suppose, it is a tv game, watched long enough to be able to know why we are winning/losing, without one of the so called commentators telling me why....atmosphere...Adelaide fans cheering?

Stuie i have a fair idea how pubs are run.

And if the Duke want 50-150 MFC die hard supporters to come into the pub on game day to eat food & drink,& to tell their mates what a top day they had, the least they can do is to have 2-3 screens running with the game on with the sound turned up.

I don't think that is too much to ask

You're spot on. That's why I complained to The Duke and not the MFC.

I'm`sure the Shandy sales will plummet.

i would complain to both. I am sure the club would want to know.

We have given the Duke a lot of advertising.

2 way street.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
