is it thursday 2 pm yet as I think I need some sleep !

ps is that when the trade week ends ?

All this trade talk is making my brain saw.

Sawing by itself?!?

It sounds all too right. Tyson last year and someone again this year from GWS who we all know love top 3 picks. I just think Treloar and Cameron may be pushing it.

Not Treloar and Cameron, Treloar OR Cameron.

I' guessing it's one of those three plus Frost.

Could possibly be maybe why we've heard nothing about any deal with Frost yet. Maybe he is part of a deal. Would love any of those 3.

So there seems to be a bit of a consensus around Coniglio being the main carrot in our hidden target thread..... How would people feel about potentially turning picks 2 & 3 into Coniglio, Frost, Brayshaw & Lever (at say pick 4/5/6 or 7 depending on the Griff/Dogs scenario)? Could possibly involve Trenners, Pick 23 & other GWS currency too.....

Coniglio & 4 for 3 & 12

So: Trengove, pick 3, pick 12

For: Coniglio, Brayshaw & pick 4.

That doesn't work either.

It would be Trengove, 3 and 23 (assuming we turn Trengove and 23 into 12) for Coniglio, Brayshaw and 4.

This. :)

Promise we wont take Petracca with 2 (assuming saints take McCartin) and GWS would be happy. Win win

Take Lever with 4 and happy days

If we could somehow get Frost as well as part of that deal it would be the dream scenario

I'm kinda thinking just pick 2 or 3 for Coniglio is fair.

Hang on I get you now sorry. Apart from Brayshaw and 4 part?

I don't. Refer to his good mate Tyson's deal last year. Both highly rated juniors, neither yet dominating, they really want Petracca, we are apparently into Brayshaw & Lever who can be taken a little lower. It would effectively be Petracca pick up grade for them, Lever pick downgrade for us & Trengove & Pick 23 (or Pick 12/10) for Coniglio & Frost. I reckon if that's the way it's headed it's another Roos win-win special.

Jeremy Cameron was spotted at Adelaide airport by a mate of mine on Friday if it makes any difference to the way people think

Personally I don't think 23 will come into it, we will hold onto that.

Welcome to the MFC Mr Danger then!!! ;-p

Yet Cameron himself came out and said he was playing golf in Sydney...

The Giants surely aren't letting Treloar go anywhere. If they do they're insane.

I'm kinda thinking just pick 2 or 3 for Coniglio is fair.

He's more a pick 10-15 on current form hence coughing up pick 12 and downgrading from 3 to 4.

What would you rather,

2, Coniglio & 12

Or

2 Coniglio & 4?

TBH i really like the sound and chances of this

Deep throat tells me we are enquiring as to Sydney's Josh Kennedy.

like the sound of this too. I guess it's just how the 2 clubs value him, it's a bit hard to say precisely.

Plausible insofar as he'd certainly fill a midfield need! Also plausible insofar as your comments on drafting/recruitment are usually reliable!

Key word is 'usually' BBO. And that may be generous. Notice the generous use of self deprecation.

as if he'd leave

EDIT: Also hinges on Sydney sorting out the COLA stuff

Lotsa fantasies/whispers/bs going on here.

Scrambling my brain.

Another wasted week at work coming up.

Oh well :)

My mind is constantly full of fantasies - trade week or not!

  • PREVIEW: Sydney

The two teams competing at the MCG on Sunday afternoon have each traversed a long and arduous path since their previous encounter on a sweltering March evening in Sydney a season and a half ago. Both experienced periods of success at various times last year. The Demons ran out of steam in midseason while the Swans went on to narrowly miss the ultimate prize in the sport. Now, they find themselves outside of finals contention as the season approaches the halfway mark. The winner this week will remain in contact with the leading pack, while the loser may well find itself on a precipice, staring into the abyss. The current season has presented numerous challenges for most clubs, particularly those positioned in the middle tier. The Essendon experience in suffering a significant 91-point loss to the Bulldogs, just one week after defeating the Swans, may not be typical, but it illustrates the unpredictability of outcomes under the league’s present set up.

  • REPORT: Brisbane

“Max Gawn has been the heart and soul of the Dees for years now, but this recent recovery from a terrible start has been driven by him. He was everywhere again, and with the game in the balance, he took several key marks to keep the ball in the Dees forward half.” - The Monday Knee Jerk Reaction: Round Ten Of course, it wasn’t the efforts of one man that caused this monumental upset, but rather the work of the coach and his assistants and the other 22 players who took the ground, notably the likes of Jake Melksham, Christian Petracca, Clayton Oliver and Kozzie Pickett but Max has been magnificent in taking ownership of his team and its welfare under the fire of a calamitous 0-5 start to the season. On Sunday, he provided the leadership that was needed to face up to the reigning premier and top of the ladder Brisbane Lions on their home turf and to prevail after a slow start, during which the hosts led by as much as 24 points in the second quarter. Titus O’Reily is normally comedic in his descriptions of the football but this time, he was being deadly serious. The Demons have come from a long way back and, although they still sit in the bottom third of the AFL pack, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel as they look to drive home the momentum inspired in the past four or five weeks by Max the Magnificent who was under such great pressure in those dark, early days of the season.

  • CASEY: Southport

The Southport Sharks came to Casey. They saw and they conquered a team with 16 AFL-listed players who, for the most part, wasted their time on the ground and failed to earn their keep. For the first half, the Sharks were kept in the game by the Demons’ poor use of the football, it’s disposal getting worse the closer the team got to its own goal and moreover, it got worse as the game progressed. Make no mistake, Casey was far and away the better team in the first half, it was winning the ruck duels through Tom Campbell’s solid performance but it was the scoreboard that told the story.

  • PREGAME: Sydney

Just a game and percentage outside the Top 8, the Demons return to Melbourne to face the Sydney Swans at the MCG, with a golden opportunity to build on the momentum from toppling the reigning premiers on their own turf. Who comes in, and who makes way?
