Hey bloke are you in a time warp stuck in the 80's or referring to the local footy down the road. FMB 3 mids plus 2 wings, its 2014 you need no less than 12 mids per 22 side, everyone is a midfielder. You probably need a stay at home Full Forward in your side as well.

A visit to charm school might be in order budge?

He is number one for effective disposals in the AFL; Gorgoroth

#2 in the AFL for total disposals

#3 in the AFL for total clearances

#1 in the AFL for effective disposals

should win his third consecutive club best and fairest

Nathan Jones should have been rewarded for his year, also to the person suggesting he wouldn't get a game at the Hawks, you're kidding yourself, he's a walk up start to any other club in the AFL without a moments doubt.

FFS. Look at the averages rather than the totals.

Why? He drops to 9th for disposals and 10th for clearances. And? It still places him in the top 10 in the league. Greene only played 15 games but averaged more. It's also about getting on the field, which Jones did every week.

Seriously? Why?

Cale Morton could play 22 games in a season, averaging 10 possies and end up with 220 TOTAL, Ablett could play 10 games averaging 22 disposals and they'd both end up on the same total.

Who do you think is the better player?

(That's ignoring the fact that stats don't mean a hell of a lot by themselves)

But that's a different circumstance to the one we're discussing. In the one we're discussing, taking Jones' average as opposed to his overall total results in a marginal drop in the rankings.

LOOK AT THE AVERAGE NOT THE TOTAL!!!! HE IS ONLY RANKED SIXTH!!!! *blood vessel popping*

Dustin Martin is number 1 for total clangers. He must be the worst player in the league then...

The Truth

For the record i am pro Jones top 40, but the truth is the the majority of us including the experts have seen at best half the games, it would take 30hrs viewing per week + 10 hrs documenting & reviewing data to be even able to be in a position to make a correct judgement, thats a full time job, the majority of us have seen all MFC games & maybe half the rest if lucky, many posters are comparing what they have seen with highlight packages, stats & popularity polls, another key factor is what you perceive a AA player to be, consider that the AA WCE players were not able to get there team over the line against any of the top 8 sides, & where were the AA players when we beat 2 top 8 sides & cost another a spot in the finals, we have all seen Jones play the outside receiver breaking the lines & look good kicking the running goal from the 50 in years gone bye, but he's better than that now & thats not what Roos wants him to do, he does the job he is asked and does it as good as i have seen, my main outrage is that the AFL could not even humour us and at least give us 1 nomination, the other is the amount of outside receivers in the squad that do there job well but survive on the back of players like Jones,Jones could play that role on the bit, the anti Jones comments don't bother me they are just clowns.

I have not seen one anti-Jones comment.

Why should the AFL "humour" us? Did you want a charity finals spot too? How soft.

Im still waiting for my apology off Stuie.

And Meth Coast were not belted this year they were beaten because there midfield for 75%of the season was outmuscled and Priddis stood up and in similar fashion to Jones carried them for the season, he will win their B & F and Mckenzie will be second because he was rarely beaten and has taken over from Glass in controlling the entire defence.

I've said it many times they are front runners and beat who they should beat and they do it well and steamroll other sides, when they are challenged they go missing except for those two mentioned above, who stand tall against any opponent. Hate the club but admire those two as players

I think Priddis is a beauty 'Pennant', just goes no matter what.

Wow bit hypocritical here Stuie....

Just admit you wrong as always stuie and you want to say sorry for first, being an absolute nuffie and second for accusing me of making up a story in which it was proved to you I was correct.. cmon.. I know you want you...

Its what what normal ordinary people do...... oh..... wait...

15 games is enough..he hasn't missed more than half the season or played only 10 games and that is why he is in. I wouldn't count him out of the Brownlow yet either. The only player to have as consistent a year is Fyfe and he missed 4 games and is ineligible. Should he be AA playing only 18 games?

Nope, missed games through suspension, shouldn't be all Australian either. Why give credit to dirty players?

He also seems to have improved his disposal which was the main knock on him.

Please don't ever equate what those moron at the MRP hand out as being a reflection on the player being a dirty player or not.

They haven't got a decision right this year and secondly if you have a look at what players are getting rubbed out for, you could hardly call them "dirty" and yet Daniel "nose breaker" Merrett gets off.

I think it's two fold, he is so fit now and running out games better so fatigue is not an issue, whilst experience has made him realise his limitations and 20-30m passes max is his bets option.

Comes from a fairly decent production line up at Sorrento-Duncraig

Guy Mckenna, Todd Ridley, Matt Priddis, Adam Cockie, Daniel Rich & Jack Darling. Along with numerous WAFL Premiership players for Subiaco

Chris De Luca a prospect for this years draft and Greg CLARK who will has played the last 2 U/18 Carnivals as an underage player and will go at least in the second round in next years draft.

Some have been iffy but Fyfe is still dirty.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
