I think your right. IMO Sewell would be a great fit for GWS, as a leader with Finals experience, & a strong inside-mids body, for 2 years.

RO'K, I still want here with us. to help us, & we can help him... maybe he can help Wattsy a bit. & also as an onfield coach @ Casey too.

I think both have skill-sets that aid each clubs weaknesses, in the head department.. its not all about footy ability & past years in legs. But rather years of maturity & hardness in the mind. this is the real gains to be made with young growing lists.

the team & individual cultures are like very soft boilt eggs atmo, & need the right cooks to create & shape them. otherwise the culture could end up all over their faces.

I think the Suns would only listen to a deal for their 2 picks, IF Petracca was on the table for them. I think they have Plenty of skilled types & quite a bit of tall talent coming on tap.

What I think they don't have is a gun key Tall Power Backman, & a tough as shyte big inside Mid. see petracca.

What about this. Our 1st pick in the draft & our 2nd Rndr ; for they're P-9 & P-15 & a suitable young GCS player ?

I reckon ROK would be good as medium forward that can put on defensive pressure / on-field coach before transitioning to an off-field role. With him dropping off a bit in pace he probably isn't suited to playing as a permanent mid anymore.

Worst comes to worst he plays at Casey and helps the boys develop there, god knows they need some help at Casey.

I was thinking today, isn't it funny.. If Brent moloney was never at melbourne I reckon we'd be talking him up as an experiences bigger body midfielder to help us out for a couple of years, the fact he was basically traded/let go means he'd never return..

I'm not advocating to get him but does anyone else think if he wasn't a former melbourne player we would be saying to get him ?

Where exacty is this occuring.

My mail is he has almost hit a wall with his ability to impact games at AFL level and the amount of yards he has lost in pace is frightening. If we want him just for culture then he is welcome in teh footy department.

I know the swans seconds comp isn't great but he is consistently getting above 30 touches, had 35 touches a few tackles and a goal on the weekend, the pace thing is a real worry, i'd expect him to play as a medium forward and provide leadership, an upgrade on what Byrnes and Rodan were offering

In our situation, i think the only targets we realistically have are older experienced players. Most of the players people are mentioning are all but fantasy, mostly because the clubs they currently play at would not only lose out, but be crazy to make the deal. If you take off your melbourne hat, there are going to be very few options. We won't need youngsters, after this draft we'll have them in spades.

Not opposed to paying overs in a trade, but it's risky business.

He is one of the fittest blokes in the comp. He is fanatical about his fitness and given that a deal similar to Cross wouldn't be a bad idea.

O'Rourke was a surprise at pick 2. He has played no good games at AFL level and shown absolutely nothing, a fresh player from the draft would be more encouraging.

Tyson had a few really good games at GWS and was ultimately halted by injury. But even when he did play, he showed glimpses of ability and flare. O'Rourke has shown none of that.

there possibly are, luckily people with far more knowledge than ether of us on this subject will make the decision, but from having seem Jono play multiple times in person I can tell you he has a fantastic work rate, wins his own ball, has good skills, and is a pretty handy overall player, I am very confident that like Jimmy Toumpas there is a lot more to him than what we have seen so far.

His pace isn't fine. Or that's my opinion. He might not have lost any but he probably didn't have much to begin with and when it comes to inside midfielders they prefer Kennedy, Parker, Bird as slower types then mix in McVeigh, Jack, Hannebery and McGlynn. Those guys like Cunningham and Lloyd play half forward and wing and so aren't in the comparison for O'Keefe. It's Bird's emergence as a tagger and quality mid (previously just floated wing and forward) and Parker's emergence as a quality hard inside midfielder that have hurt O'Keefe.

Ahhh the Swans and Hawks, both have about 8 quality midfielders. About 3 or 4 who are tough and hard inside. Another couple who are quick, fit and skillful to play outside and some versatile ones. We might have 4 and be halfway there.

My biggest issue, is that he definitely struggles to win alot of the footy and accumulate possession.

It's hard to judge, he really hasn't adjusted to AFL level just yet but I think there is a strong case for saying he really hasn't had the opportunity to.

he is very good at reserves level when he goes back, really in a very similar point in his career to Toumpas

Just my opinion ... O'Rourke would be a very handy addition to MFC as a taller mid. Smart ball user.
