As if we needed another reason to hate North Melbourne

Christ Stu, I thought you'd be banned for the shite you wrote on "your" Mitch Clark thread.

WTF have Birkenstocks got to do with anything?

BTW. Leave the caravan park and improve your life.

Now come on Pot, don't go calling ME a kettle who goes off topic....

Yes, I'm not pretending that we draw bigger crowds, but to be perfectly honest I couldn't give a stuff about creating a hostile environment. The fact of the matter is, at most of their games, they're going to be outnumbered by opposition supporters anyway, so it would not make an iota of difference to the atmosphere

They're trying to do whatever they can that may advantage their club. Good on them I say.

Crowd and location are the two factors that will make a match feel like a "home" match.

Of course a Victorian match at Etihad/MCG will not feel like a home match - equally a match where the crowd is minimal.

Interstate games have a home feel for the home side because of the uniqueness of the ground (lack of games played there by the opposition) and fierce outweighing of support.

Those quoting American sport are ignoring that, in the majority of cases, matches are played between a team and another side from interstate.

They're trying to do whatever they can that may advantage their club. Good on them I say.

And why should tradition be abolished in the interests of one (very mediocre) club?

Why don't you change your name to Fuschiaof94?

Seems like Stuie has skulked off Demon. Wouldn't be the first time.

No, just focusing on the topic now, hence why you wouldn't have noticed.

That is one of the most stupid ideas available to humanity- big whoop - how utterly hostile.FM sideways. No wonder Stu is right into it as a brainstorm.

No! He's back with an unintelligible answer. Hang on! What am I saying? Most of Stuie's rants are unintelligible.

Obviously went way over your low-browed head.

I cannot understand this notion of not hating other teams. You barrack for Melbourne - therefore you hate everyone else. I'll concede that there are degrees of hate. For example I hate Carlton but I hate Richmond even more.

I cannot understand anything outside these parameters. I had a few fights in Clifton Hill to support this rule.

Gee you would be pushing it to get into a fight in Clifton Hill these days, at least over footy. Too many hipsters around. You might get some angry looking stares in The Royal bar if you mentioned how you are looking forward to the new tunnel! Elementary my dear BBO really.

FMD. I went to Saint Thomas' . You did well to avoid fights with the boys from Fitzroy High!

Stuie would have [censored] his pants in those days. It wasn't some anonymous clown abusing you via the ether - it was some clown trying to bury a brick in your head.

This is really a nothing suggestion by Norf. Home ground advantage doesn't really exist amongst Melbourne based clubs. If this was a priority, they would have moved to GC. No biggy. Just another silly suggestion that comes out of any given club from time to time. Eddie McMansion and Jeff K have been doing this sort of thing for years. Lightweight BS really.

it was some clown trying to bury a brick in your head.

Explains A LOT.

Ummmm yeah, that's the point Moonie...

Explains A LOT.

Stu, I have tried many times to improve your ability to make a serious, useful and intelligible post. I thought I'd made some inroads - limited to be sure.

But ... pleeeeeeeeeese keep away from attempts at humour.

I am actually all for this plan, if we only do it for Fremantle and GWS their songs are terrible.

It wasn't a joke. But I won't be mean about it now that I understand all the blunt trauma you have been through brick head.

The club “strongly believes” the change would encourage more fans of away clubs to attend matches, to “even up the disparity” and clubs would be more likely to make a call to arms for the same reason.

When it comes to fans, they've got very little experience to call upon, and it shows.

I would be discouraged from going to an away game because there is a big chance we wouldn't hear the grand old flag after the game...

By the same logic, why don't we flood the visiting team's dressing rooms and turn off the heaters in the coaches' box and accost them with knife-weilding maniacs as they come down the race at quarter-time?

Stupid idea, though I guess I respect the motivation behind it.

I still wish they had upped and moved to the Gold Coast.

We need only one Melbourne in this city.

"It's a Grand Old Flag"

Go away Nought.

I am a fellow CBC old boy (St Leo's Box Hill) I can empathise although we didn't have local high school kids stalking us with bricks, thankfully. We just had to deal with the likes of Brother Robert Best and a few other similar predators. I never saw what they were up to thankfully, others in my class weren't so lucky.

Ummmm yeah, that's the point Moonie...

Jeez you love picking fights Stuie.

I think Norf's suggestion is lightweight and a nothing PR stunt and you resort to belittling.

Time to take a break or better still be forced to take a break.

At least BBO is humorous (and that pains me to say).

You're just a bully mate.
