As if we needed another reason to hate North Melbourne

Featured Replies

I don't hate them!

Then you are one of a few.

Interesting idea. Sucks ya don't have a 'home team' advantage when playing on your home turf, that's certainly what local footy has over AFL.

Although some teams in the AFL have that luxury; Geelong and the interstate teams.

I like North's left field thinking to be honest.

If they had relocated to GC when it was offered, would we have had the expansion teams ?

Surely you jest?

Running out through the banner to your club song is a pillar of Aussie rules football tradition. I wish people would stop trying to [censored] americanise everything

Apparently they don't want it played afterwards either. Ridiculous

I cannot understand this notion of not hating other teams. You barrack for Melbourne - therefore you hate everyone else. I'll concede that there are degrees of hate. For example I hate Carlton but I hate Richmond even more.

I cannot understand anything outside these parameters. I had a few fights in Clifton Hill to support this rule.

Don't mind not hearing it before, actually like the idea. Sorry to disagree with you, it kinda is what happens on forums.

I hope you didn't hit them too hard with your birkenstocks, your kind need to stick together

Arch and Byron are two of my all time favourite players, and even though it's been overdone now, the "shinboner spirit" is something I would have loved to have claimed about the MFC.

Why hate them for throwing ideas out there? Is it only Eddie that is allowed to put ideas forward?

No need to be condescending, I was simply debating your viewpoint. Which, you know, happens on forums too.

I don't think many people would be keen on the idea of running out against the Saints this week, after a long off-season, and not being able to belt out 'It's a Grand Old Flag'. Passion is what makes Australian footy great.

Leave the game as it is

That's the problem, they're not brilliant 'ideas', they are simply trying to mirror american sports, as they have done with the likes of free agency.

I simply wish people would acknowledge tradition, rather than trying to seek change for the sake of it

Great idea, after a recent visit to the states and seeing how sports over there are it definitely adds to the hostility towards opposition teams. In the states the home team feels like a home team. In AFL you could go to a game and have no idea who the home team is.

I think they should concentrate a bit more on winning games by playing better football than their opponent. So far they have shown potential but have not delivered, many have them a top 8 or even top 4 contender. For them it's time to put up or shut up.

A great idea would be getting more than 20,000 people at their home games, maybe then they could create this 'hostile environment' that they crave

But it's not for the sake of it, they clearly explained why they wanted to do it.

Christ Stu, I thought you'd be banned for the shite you wrote on "your" Mitch Clark thread.

WTF have Birkenstocks got to do with anything?

BTW. Leave the caravan park and improve your life.

Dude, you barrack for Melbourne right?......

Another great idea would be cheer leaders.

Yes, I'm not pretending that we draw bigger crowds, but to be perfectly honest I couldn't give a stuff about creating a hostile environment. The fact of the matter is, at most of their games, they're going to be outnumbered by opposition supporters anyway, so it would not make an iota of difference to the atmosphere
