Jetta won't play a game under Roos because he will be delisted before draft day this year. Bookmark it.

And Nicholson I hope. Its a shame we cannot jettison Bail as well. Poor contracting I believe

Cannot believe that MFC would keep Bail or Nicholson over Dunn. Yes I know Bail is contracted!

Dunn is very versatile and Can Kick and does beat his man I would offer him 2 years under Roo's and see how he goes

Much Maligned player for no good reason Plenty worse on the current list

Some of the Dunn bashing here is completely tedious.

He has a very good kick, seems to have a good presence around the club, and tries hard. I hope he gets a new contract. With the MFC.

the thing to realise with Dunn is if you now construct your best 22's..even best 25's scenarios...is he there? Isnt in mine

he's gone

Dunn had a good year this year.. And I can see Roos using him as an LRT type of mold!

As for bail, blease and nicho... They will struggle to get a game, after what we have picked up so far in.. Michie Tyson Vince and Crosd

Clisby can stay on the rookie list for another year. I believe that we are able to nominate a rookie before the start of the season that can play; last year it was Magner, this year it will be Clisby. I am happy to promote Magner if the club sees fit. If the rumours about Cross are accurate then we have eight off and five on. This leaves us with three live picks, which is the requirement. One of Magner, Nicholson or Dunn will have to be jettisoned.

3 may be the minimum requirement.- but we may want a bigger turnover than that .............. which means that there is a surprise or two ahead.especially has Cross has now taken a spot

Clisby could be left on the rookie list - but if we are really serious about his development you think we'd want to ease his financial worries by putting him on a full contract. Unlike Magner, he doesn't have a home here - and his body hasn't yet fully developed.

Must be some trades or de-listings to come

Whatever people may think of Dunn, he has size experience and adaptability on his side.At the very least he is the sort of depth player we need ( especially down back)

Regarding Clisby, I guess we will have to find out how he interacts with Roos, and what Roos thinks he can do with him.

It didn't work once but ?????

People are putting Strauss on the half back flank, a guy who has played 24 games total, 6 this year at an average of less than ten touches a game... Dunn (117 games, 18 this year, 16 avg disposals, 7th in the BnF) is not gone.

Yes, Strauss may have potential, and yes, he's had bad luck with injury. But if you're picking the best side rather than gifting games to the kids Bailey-style, then Dunn is streets ahead of him.

I didnt have Strauss either. i dont think hes going to make it long term. There are a handful of players who all reside on the fringe at the MFC.. Strauss is one, Blease is another really, Magner a yard beyond the fringe.. The Jetta's, Nicholson's etc.

Dunn is just inside the fence for mine but not across the white line under better circumstances and its those that will prove his lament.

Dunn is an adequate run of milll utility without any great claim to fame and unable really to hold down or make any position his. He has been a good fill in . Because of injuries and us not being able to put all or the best on the park at any given time in 13 some compromises were made. Grimes to the middle being one example

The forward 50 is going to be a bit of a who's who. No room for Lynden there. His only hope is as a back pocket but with the likes of Tom Mac and Terlich , even Clisby possibly better options looking forward then Dunn becomes a 'depth' player at best

Right now hes more value in some convoluted trade than on our primary...just mho :)

with Seller, Gillies and Davis all delisted Dunn is a s safe as houses, can play on the medium tall forward and with Pederson is our only tall (ish) defensive option should something happen to one of Garland, Frawley, or Tommy Mac.

Out of contract are:

TAGGERT, Rory

TAPSCOTT, Luke

GRIMES, Jack

NICHOLSON, Daniel

DUNN, Lynden

MAGNER, James

JETTA, Neville

The further delistings will come from this group. Any contracted players salary has to be included in salary cap if delisted.

One would think there are some relatively easy decisions among that group, or they could be traded for draft selections which won't be used.....

I have Dunn, & Tapscott down as contracted to 2014?

Roos has written in the past that he rates Dunn highly (HUN, last year, i think).

Dunn has learned to keep his mouth shut, which has been his biggest liability in seasons past, and has had a good year (playing out-of-position).

i would be very, very surprised if he isn't in the 22 in season '14. he will not be shown the door, nor should he be.

I can't have Dunn, still unsure of what he provides and in all honesty, no debating here will change that. Still I will always want the best for him when he lines up for us. He is definitely under the pump though with Grimes most likely returning to the HBF.

I have always had a soft spot for Tappy yet looking at his stats last year it's pretty much a given that this season may be his last to get his mojo back and I would not be surprised if he was used as trade bait. Clearly under the pump.

Tappy is a clear case of sh!thouse coaching over the last few years as like so many of our list has gone completely backwards.

His first half a dozen games he was getting a fair bit of the ball, laying his big tackles and I remember him jumping back in the whole once or twice getting crunched (yet to see Dunn do this). This is where the love for Tappy originated, thinking we had a genuine old school nugget with a thumping boot.

I think most were a little smitten.

Two years of "development" later he is half the player he was.

Yeah - my mistake. (Not Clisby)

I am sure we haven't done Tappy any favours over the last few years but I struggle to see what he brings to the table. I like his hardness and the occasional hard hit but he has problems with speed and getting into the contests. If he was a ball magnet like Diesel it would all work. But he is this in between type to me. Average height, average speed, average smarts. Where does he have an advantage, a strength he can exploit this year to save his career?

Dunn signed at the end of last season until 2014, , also he has had 2 top 10 finish. In bf in last two season and roos rates him, and I trust his judgement over all u dunn hateres. hhhhhhyzhh77ujuujhh

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
