For those interested, Austin Wonaeamirri will captain theTiwi Bombers in tomorrows grand final against St Marys in the NTFL.

Tiwi Bombers captain Shane Tipuamantamirri will miss out on this weekend's NTFL Grand Final after being suspended for rough conduct. This year's Nichols Medallist, Tipuamantamirri, pleaded not guilty to the charge at a tribunal hearing this week which was unsuccessful.

Tiwi went down to St Mary's dismally in the semi final between the top two sides by 51 points.

Tiwi 10.12.72

St Mary's 19.9.123

Aussie booted 3 goals in the loss.

It will be a great honour for Aussie to captain the proud Tiwi Bombers in a grand final and I will be going to cheer for him and hopefully they go back to back.

My verdict:

St Mary's have been the standout team all year and if Tiwi try to play their game style St Mary's will win big. If Tiwi play their own style I think they'll win a close one. St Mary's by 38.

Cheers,

Hells Gates

Well done Aussie - I still have his autographed #33 jumper at home that I paid a fortune for and while I blame for ending his career.

Bought it at a silent auction and the following week he injured his ankle on comeback for the Casey ressies and he never played for the club again.

Go Aussie - I might tape the replay and wear the jumper watching it.

When I think what could have been with Liam and Aussie, geez we had some rotten luck.

Whispering Jack, I feel your pain. I bought the 'Shane Woewodin Brownlow Medal Port' in a crappy gift box etc. Thought it would make a nice souvenir above my bar. Guess where it ended up!!

I still have mine in a cupboard somewhere. Reckon it's turned into vinegar by now if it wasn't to start with in the first place.

Up in the NT, Aussie's Tiwi Bombers started off well enough but were overrun by St. Mary's in the NTFL grand final. Best on ground was Willie Rioli Jnr with 5 goals for the winning team. No doubt, he'll be keenly sought after at this year's draft.

That's nothing, I bought LJ's St Patricks Day signed jumper AND I bought Matty Warnock's Shanghai jumper... I'm currently batting at 100%.

Aah yes the Shane Woewodin Port. The only time i bought off a telephone call. I think he was gone within a month!!

Still got it somewhere. Thanks for the reminder....

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
