How many wins as a minimum in 2013?

Clearly Neeld recognizes his tenure might be over before it really begins if he doesn't appease the masses and get the boys singing the club song a bit more throughout 2013. With the arrival of Dawes, Viney, pick 4, Byrnes and in all probability Pederson and Ray, along with the hoped-for improvement in the players already at his disposal, you'd like to think we'll be in the hunt in far more contests than was the case this year.

I expect us to win a minimum of 8 games next year. 10 and I reckon Neeld may even get an early contract extension.

FINALS.PERIOD!

We have had six years of absolute garbage and its time for us to see winning results again week after week!

In all honesty, I want to see us absolutely destroy/smash/bully GWS this year. I hate them as much as Collingwood Essendon and Hawthorn, it started with that [censored] Gubby Allen (seriously get a name that isnt fit for a kids show) and of course it ended with TS. I dont want them to ever get close to beating us.

"If winning isn't everything, then why do they keep a score?" - Vince Lombardi

Not trying to have a go at you or devalue KPIs, but food for thought.

Lombardi was a great coach. Coaches say those things.

As a supporter of a team nowhere near the top 4 (where flags are won), process is more important than results.

And a better process will get you better results.

I like this saying:

The ladder is a legislatively important measure, but it is not the only measure.

Viney might give us a small something to cheer about as an 18 year old, Hogan cannot even play until '14. In all likelihood he is 3-4 years away at least of having a real impact. If you are looking at the types to puts bums on seats this year it is Clark, Jones, Grimes, Trengove, Sylvia, McDonald, Blease, Watts, Frawley, McKenzie and Howe. 11 bloody good players if you ask me.

Obviously hogan cant play until 2014 and since when did you become Nostradamus predicting how long it will take for a player to turn into a champion ever heard of a bloke called Coleman you deflater of hope

To avoid the "tick tock" thread coming back Neeld needs 6+ wins. Very generous for Neeld. My origninal thought was for 8 wins. This should be achievable given Gold Coast, GWS, Bulldogs and Port Adelaide are also struggling. No excuses now as Neeld has called the shots.

Melbourne's in no position to "bully" anyone. Interested in your deep hatred of GWS? You need to let a few things go Jonesbag. As for Scully just get over it. Scully didn't like what he saw at Melbourne and who on earth wouldn't take that sought of money? The move also helped us snare Mitch who incidentally was generally bagged after Round one V Brisbane this year. Rivers gone, Moloney gone, Jurrah gone, Greene gone thank heavens we have Mitch.

As for your "[censored]" comment re Gabby Allen? Please explain?

Add 1 win to my tally (now at 11) for the introduction of Rodan.

Needed some shimmy and pressure at the feet of Clark, Dawes Howe and co...

I want to see us play like a team. Watch the ball flow from the back line to the 50. I wanna see run and carry. I wanna see inspirational efforts. I wanna jump out of my seat with two fists pumped with excitement I wanna remember how all that feels again .

It's the way Scully and Fat Phil handled the whole thing pants. It reeked of arrogance and they spat in the face of the MFC.

Minimum number of wins?

It'd be pretty hard to get less than zero.

But picking an arbitrary numbers of wins, I think, is for fools.

There are better measures of progress being made.

Couldnt have put it better myself.

8 wins minimum. And as others have said a maximum of two floggings.

Need to get back to where we were at the end of 2011 at the very least.

At the end of 2011? Please no. I don't want to get back to a dispirited, rudderless fractured playing group. One who got smashed time and again by massive margins, including 186.

Ill be ecstatic with 8-10 wins.

Add to that no more than 2x60 point floggings and a % over 100.

If Richmond can get 10 wins and a draw in 2012 then we should also come close to that.

They also kept thier losing score to a minimum and lost a few games by under 10 points due to inexperience.

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t
