War about to erupt between Richmond and GWS

Old..Ive long suspected that once we got the sniff that all was not quite kosher with the over-hyped one that MFC played a little game. It could have ended like the Puppies..or it could end how it did, with much greater reward.

Weve all been over the rest countless times. Yes we are much relieved to have him gone. Im not so sure the rest wasnt without some orchestration ;)

I have had similar thoughts. Once they put $600,000 a year on him which was outbid the AFL was between a rock and a hard place in terms of compensation. Smelt like the MFC knew he was gone and plan was to maximise. I too am very glad he is gone.

I have a feeling old55 that they actually did us a favour.

If we had kept him we would not have been able to get Clark.

The situation is really only half a season old but Clark gave us way more for half a year than Scully gave us in two years and GWS in a whole season.

The $cully situation also forced us to look at our whole recruiting structure and set up. It's a big win for us how its turned out,

I dont agree with much that you do say - but you are on the money with this one. All kudos must go to the head conductor.

Very good 9 out of 10 for this early in the day!

Still laughing at old55's reply of "Scully"...

You've made hangon007's day, old55...

May day was "made" long ago - when we secured the 2 first round picks from GWS (AFL) we just had to wait 12 months to enjoy it - Im going to enjoy this trade & drafting period. I am a patient man - I am a Demons supporter after all.

It is fun watching Sheeds and Co squirming isnt it !! lol :)

I wonder if its yet occured to the Martian Seagull himself that money doesnt buy everything !!!

In fact sometimes it doesn't buy much at all ^_^

I could not care less about GWS - a fake team built on cheating & bs - they stand for nothing - even their name is fake - what the hell is a GWS - can't see it on any map I've looked at - the rats will soon depart leaving Tommy $ and his $illy old man $tranded

No chance it will be there in 20 years time.

Vlad and the boys will keep pouring in money and changing rules until they are succesfull.

There is a lot better chance the MFc will fold before them IMHO

They will find it harder than most to retain their list. The place is a dump, and they will never build a meaningful base. Nonne cares ! Good $ after bad IMHO - Vlad notwithstanding. History is littered with dead teams from out there - NBL, ASL come immediately to mind. NRL & A League heartland.

Please muppets and newspaper boys ignore - Rumours are now out one of the clubs might try and bring the first battle forward by a year - by targeting a large Ruckman with a bit of inside info. Hope its just his manager pumping up his price and forcing GWS to use more salary cap space.

Forget the haunting of Round 11 — we’ve got this. Melbourne returns to its inner-city fortress for its milestone 100th AFLW match, carrying a formidable 10–2 record at IKON Stadium. Brisbane’s record at the venue is more balanced: 4 wins, 4 losses and a draw.

It’s been a season of grit, growth, and glimpses of brilliance—mixed with a few tough interstate lessons. Now, with finals looming, the Dees head to Kardinia Park for one last tune-up before the real stuff begins.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
