Herald Sun reports Gysberts to be shown the door...Neeld has gone mad!!!

Featured Replies

......they being whom? The H-S?

No, the commentators calling the Sandy v Casey game........Rhys - Jones and Donegan (I think?)

Nonetheless, they withdrew their comments after the club corrected their information.

If any of this is remotely on the ball, it could always be Gysberts who is wanting to move on (offer from another club maybe). Its not MFC wanting him to go.

Maybe.

Is it true WYL when you lost your virginity you still remained negative.

Your fookin kidding yourself, you talk about none of our players being up to September bar Jones and Clark.

Frawley would walk into Hawthorns backline and Collingwoods, Jamar would play in both those sides as well,

Grimes, Blease, Trengove (our captain you write off at any given chance) will all be players and the little I have seen of Viney shows he also has the hunger. These 4 would all perform roles in all of the finals teams when surrounded by class players.

Put the noose and the sharp objects away FFS

I will become positive when the club makes solid decisions and not before.

Picks 11 & 12.....we f$&@ke them up good & proper didn't we.

Clark & Jones are the only players who could cope with September pressure.

Our present Captains are nowhere near that level yet.

Head out of the sand please.

Edited by why you little

It sounds as if the only part of the title to this thread that is totally accurate is the part about MN being mad. He's mad at the irresponsible journalism that puts the likes of Jordan Gysberts out of the club right now.

It's possible that Gys might end up being traded but it was pathetic to hear ABC commentators announcing during the early part of yesterday's game that both he and Lucas Cook had been delisted during the week when clearly the club has not announced its delistings. In addition, Gysberts is a contracted player so that it's highly unlikely he will be delisted at all even though the trade option remains open. I think Andrew Walker of Carlton was in the same situation a couple of years ago but nothing eventuated on that score. He went on to be a valuable member of the team kicking 50 goals and eventually got a better and longer contract with the club.

WYL you are blinded by your own negativity

What you have failed to acknowledge in your posts is the lack of leadership has thrown a lot of our boys in the deep end as far as responsibilty

A lot of them would be fine surrounded by stars

I also note you conveniently let Jamar and Frawley out of your answer

Mattner, Schoenmakers, Duffield, Pearce, Hunt, Mcmahon, Puopolo, Seedsman, Bailey, Stratton, Wright,Bradley, Spurr, Stratton, Simpkin are a few who played finals so far and don't for one minute believe they are better than a lot of players on our list. They play a role in their sides.

One day the penny will drop and you will realise it's a solid core group you need of about 8-12. We are about 4/5 players away from that in fact we have some of them who need to get a few more pre seasons into them and more understanding of the game plan

And for every Walker there are 20 shown the door.

Gysberts will stay, or be traded, but clearly Neeld isn't a fan, otherwise he would have played more then one game. Josh Tynan had more injuries than Gysberts this year, but even he played more games even though he's a first year player.

Cook is toast.

you think Jamar and Frawley are up to September pressure right now do you?

Yep Clarko would take them in a heartbeat

Ha. Of all of the players to question over their ability to play in September, you choose Frawley.

Staggering.

Yes. I think we over rate him at this stage.

The games i have watched over the weekend tell me that.

Our list is miles off september right now.

Frawley is a much, much better player than Shoenmakers (for a start).

Frawley is a better defender than Tarrant, O'Brien, Schoenmakers, Stratton, Dawson & the 2012 Matty Scarlett

The MFC had one "legitimate" win in 2012 so i don't see how you can make that judgement so easily.

Frawley is a good player. But has a long way to go ... many ordinary games in 2012.

Tex you have my 100% support. Neeld is the greatest mistake this club has made since sacking Norm Smith. The spotlight should not be on our players, rather it should be on our coach. He must be sacked, this is a disaster.

Neeld is a dud coach. This teams has gone miles backwards and the fall out is about to begin. I'm concerned whether this club will survive his tenure.

Those who think Neeld was exposed to a winning culture in Collingwood are delusional. I highly doubt Malthouse with his controlling nature would reveal much to Neeld especially in the presence of Buckley.

Face the facts, Sanderson or Malthouse were the right men for the job. What we got is a talk first, tourette's

So you are assuming that as a midfield coach at the pies Mick would not talk footy with Mark Neeld? I think you are delusional champ.

WYL sometimes it's okay to say your wrong, Frawley has all of them covered and all of them would have struggled in our side, I'll even back Tommy Mac against a lot of them.

I will happily admit when i am wrong. I just believe we over rate our players. Watching the games this weekend tells me that.

Mitch & Nathan Jones are the only ones who could handle september right now.

Ha. Ludicrous.

What were your views on Xavier Ellis a couple of months ago?

Answer the question.

Never thought about him actually. Anything i should look out for??

Your point??

Xavier Ellis has spent much of the last few years ostensibly on the outer. Seen as a pretty soft player, he plays a medium, bit-part role for the Hawks (the best team in the land). He's come in recently and, on Friday night, collected 17 touches and kick a goal.

My point is that you're saying we have only two players who can play a role in September. You go even further to say that one of our best players couldn't play a role in September (despite the fact that he's a much better defender than many others running out during the finals).

Teams win finals, not individuals (though, of course, some individuals help more than others).

We may over rate our players, but you are over-rating every finals player to the point of ridiculousness with your last few posts.

No 45. I am watching September pressure and intensity over the last 2 days.

Mitch & Jones would thrive. The rest have a long way to go.

My God.

My God.

WYL seems to like beating up on himself lately. Is having a severe bout of MFCSS.

A good self inflicted upper cut should fix it

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.
