Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

My feeling is in some ways this season Neeld has been malthouse by proxy - same style, similar ideas and Im sure Neeld has sounded out his opinion based on comments that Mick has made. I think Malthouse would have made similar calls and has infact defended all of Neeld's calls this season thus far. We only worry more because Neeld is untried. Next year will be his chance.

yep...make or break for him I think. If we produce the same kind of football in 2013 and finish up with 3 or 4 wins again I think we can safely say that the 3 year contract wont make it past 2. I WANT him to succeed but the signs so far are just really hard to read. I think this is has been the longest and hardest supporting season in memory. At 3/4 time round 1 I pretty much knew what was going to happen for the rest of the year and, barring the Essendon game and Mitch Clark, there wasnt much to lift the spirits.

Perhaps we should send the entire list off to Afghanistan for a summer training camp. Will that harden them up enough for you. Or perhaps if we put the worst slackers in front of a firing squad - that should toughen up the rest of the lazy good for nothings!

edit - bad typing

HaHaHa, Afghanistan? Maybe they're High Altitudes could be good for our group re training, & I bet they'll run harder & learn agility while dodging the shadows.

Thanks for the synopsis of previous 29 posts you sad [censored]. Happy for you to dismiss a legitimate third party observation regarding attitudual and cultural issues that have contributed to poor performance and development of talent due to having posted only 29 times!

It's people like you that make these fan sites such a laborious read. Those like you that only leave their lounge room and venture out into society once a week to go to the footy get all there opions from the Internet and print media without actually meeting or knowing anyone with true insight or club knowledge.

As for previous posts:

Neeld - still feel he lacks emotional intelligence and has pulled wrong levers at the club.

Misson - believe he should be accountable for players decrease in leg speed this year ie trengove

Schwab - still feel he's a poor leader of the club, goes into hiding when times get really tough and poor with members and coteries. Unlike others ive actually had the balls to discuss this with him.

Sellar - yep, still think he's a spud.

Credibility = 0 mate.

How can you expect your claims to be taken seriously when you have such a bias?

I would take notice of any information that comes from Melbourne Storm. That club is rock solid. When the NRL stripped them of cups & points i thought they were finished. But in fact it made them tougher.

The toughness Hawthorn & lately Geelong have.

But did it, seems to be a lack of any further information after the initial post and a few of us have asked questions. I'm interested in what was said and when it was said, Bailey or post Bailey?

So am i. But slagging a guy off for having just 29 posts is childish.

slagging someone off for 29 post is [censored] weak effort stuie..

your credibility is -0

I didn't "slag him off" for the amount of posts, I "slagged him off" because he is expecting people to believe a rumour when he has nothing to back it up, no reputation at Demonland (good or bad) given his few posts, and in his few posts he has shown a strong bias against Mission and Neeld.

See, those are called "facts" mate. Look into it...

Stuie is correct about the nature of the debate. If the information is correct then it is effectively calling Neeld a dunce. The buck , as it were, for all training, stops with Neeld. Unless the initial post can be substantiated above mere hearsay, then it should be ignored.

No, I don't agree Bbo... I don't think this is a slight against Neeld or Misson at all.. But It is a reflection of the Battle Neeld faces.

This easy going contented attitude to the footy world has been a long term club culture.

I think we are on about 2 ditterent matters. If players are mucking up or not training in the way required then it is coaches responsibility to be aware of this and do something about.

It may be that this poor traing is reflective of a poor culture but, again, it is up to the coach to rectify this.

I understood what you are saying, But if it is as widespread a problem throughout the list & senior players & club generally, as I have heard before, then the coach is in a difficult position to try to lay down the law.

He could end up with a small mutiny, as we've heard all the rumors earlier in the year about rifts & player discomfort with the new footy coaches.

These days the players are full of themselves & in todays Western World culture, these generations will not take too much harsh Criticism or discipline.

It seems a tough balancing act to Instill the professionalism & new hard disciplines into a reluctant player/club culture.

Remember all the push in the first half of the Season wanting Neeld sacked... what a joke that all was.... it's a monumental job this one, for a new coach.

Barassi cleared it up over 5 Years, & it cleaned him up at the same time... he left after '85, having done a lot of hard thankless work.

I presume Neeld gets paid 300-400k pa. Anyway you dice it, it is a top echelon salary. It is his job to fix such problems.

And sorry, I can't continue the debate as I going out to, of all things, a 21st!

It's been no secret Stuie, our poor Weights workload & lack of Elite fitness.

Think back over the last 15 Years.

Which players looked 'Built' in your memory.

And over the last 10 Years since 2002,,,, which of our top players looked built, Pumped from the weights room.

It doesn't take IronStein the Weights coach, to tell us that Melbourne Dees are the equivalent of the Old Handbag Catters...

NO criticism will only encourage more of the same failings & a lack of change.

If we want IT to BE,,,,,, then it's up to US! to stand UP.

Sure, but your being a bit footy naive.

How many well paid coaches have tried to turn Melbourne around since 1965?

And how many are born useless footy people, before they went to us, or after they left us?

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
