4.40 on a Sunday, hell of a long time to wait on a weekend to watch some footy, especially given on form we will get spanked. Here's hoping that we can maybe just maybe we can pull something out of the box for Greenies send off. Been a favourite of mine, regardless of his last couple of seasons. Would have been a far better player if we had a better forward line around him for the past few years - get the 3rd Backman rather than the first - ie what Scott Lucas got - Hird and Lloyd need relentless defending Lucas got to float in and pick off easy grabs. That 2000 Qualifying Final was definately my most memorable Brad Green moment, and probably one of my most memorable MFC moments.

I remember sitting in front of a family of arrogant Carlton surporters. Carlton were in control of the game at half time, though their woeful kicking for goal kept us in it. At half time, the Carlton supporters were joking how they were going to go up to the snow the following weekend as they wouldn't have to play. They quietened down pretty quickly after half time though.

While a number of our players lifted after half time, it was a young 19 year old kid by the name of Brad Green, playing in his first AFL season, who showed the more experienced and better fancied Carlton outfit how to take the most of your opportunities. It was Green's sure hands and composure in front of the sticks that got us over the line that day, and straight into the Prelim. final. Without Green's individual heroics in the 2nd half, we wouldn't have made it to the first Saturday in September (as it was that year).

Congratulations on a terrific career Brad Green, and I hope the boys can send you out in style!
