Injury List - Round 21

The Herald Sun's injury list below but it couldn't possibly be correct. I heard over the weekend that Ricky Petterd has an Achilles problem and might be out for the rest of the season. Jai Sheahan who has been shown as "(ankle) test" for the past couple of weeks has actually been playing and was named in Casey's best against Geelong.

Footy Barometer

Jack Watts (ankle) test

Jai Sheahan (ankle) test

James Frawley (quad) TBC

Mark Jamar (calf) 1-2 weeks

Clint Bartram (knee) season

Jamie Bennell (knee) season

Mitch Clark (foot) season

Aaron Davey (foot) season

Max Gawn (knee) season

Cale Morton (shoulder) season

Rory Taggert (back) indefinite

Kelvin Lawrence (calf) left the club

That being the case alpha33 he has more than likely played his last game for the dees.

I think he will be the first one de listed.

Does anyone know what the story is with Williams' knee?

Good question - wondering that myself.

Was his ankle....unkown atm

James Frawley was last weekends mystery injury late withdrawal.

Who will be this weeks?

How did Jones & Grimes pull up ?

Does anyone have any FACTUAL update on Mitch Clark's progress and prognosis?

His recovery is IMO the most important yet uncertain of all of those on that list.

This is probably a more accurate version of our injury list. It comes from today's Age:-

MELBOURNE

James Frawley (quad) test

Stef Martin (foot) test

Jack Watts (ankle) test

Mark Jamar (calf) 2 weeks

Clint Bartram (knee) season

Jamie Bennell (knee) season

Mitch Clark (foot) season

Aaron Davey (foot) season

Max Gawn (knee) season

Cale Morton (shoulder) season

Ricky Petterd (Achilles) season

Rory Taggert (back) season

With three weeks to go (and the last game's in Perth) one wonders whether the Russian shouldn't be pulling up stumps for the season. I also wonder about the change in grading of Rory Taggert's injury from "indefinite" to "season". Does it really matter any way?

And I'm also bemused by this week's opposition. Does this suggest anything to anybody?

Forget the haunting of Round 11 — we’ve got this. Melbourne returns to its inner-city fortress for its milestone 100th AFLW match, carrying a formidable 10–2 record at IKON Stadium. Brisbane’s record at the venue is more balanced: 4 wins, 4 losses and a draw.

It’s been a season of grit, growth, and glimpses of brilliance—mixed with a few tough interstate lessons. Now, with finals looming, the Dees head to Kardinia Park for one last tune-up before the real stuff begins.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
