was listening to shannon nolls song and was thinking it describes melbourne pretty well at the moment. Neeld is the one who switches us on :) not saying this has happened which it hasn't but quite sure he is the man to do so! i've changed the i's to we and 'you' to neeld :P the only thing that doesn't fit is the part when we were younger.

it was good for a bit of fun! GO DEES

"Switch Us On"

we never thought that we'd find ourselves here

The darkest place that we've ever been

we never thought that we'd take this life for granted, but we did

we would've given it all when we were younger

we would've given up everything for a taste

Of the life and the lights and the crowds

But our mind wasn't right, there were lies

Then neeld came along...

And neeld switched us, switched us on again

And neeld showed us what it's like to live

When neeld found us we wer empty

we were too far gone for anybody

Switch us, switch us on again, tonight.

There was story my old man told me when I was young

He said the measure of a man ain't in his bank account

He said be careful of the things you say and what you do

And all the people that you've got hangin around with you

And I lost my way, prodigal son

Of who I am and where I'm from

Ooh, I was blind but now I see

Then neeld came along

And neeld switched us, switched us on again

And neeld showed us what it's like to live

When neeld found us we were empty

we were too far gone for anybody

Switch us, switch us on again, tonight.

Tonight I've never felt so alive

Just looking in your eyes

I finally realized

What I'm doing with my life.

And neeld switched us, switched us on again

And neeld showed us what it's like to live

When neeld found us we were empty

we were too far gone for anybody

Switch us, switch us on again, tonight.

Neeld switch us, switch us on again

And neeld showed us what it's like to live

When neeld found us we were empty

we were too far gone for anybody

Switch us, switch us on again, tonight.

YDE

i think you might have too much time on your hands if your listening that closely to Shannon Noll.

I would reckon there are many songs that could be applied to MFC particulary Blues related but I have rarely followed the lyrics of one song that closely so I do admire your thoroughness.

And I do like your creativeness and enthusiasm (passion) for the DEES

That song should also inspire Neeld with the level of support you display

BUT

I also would worry that you may see Neeld as the sole factor for success. It is the Melbourne club, the team of coaches, the team of players, the team of supporters who will together participate in the success. While its true he may be and must be a major factor it will only happen when we are all able to contribute what we have.

If you still have time you could look for some similar inspiration for other players Maybe starting at Morton Spencer sylvia and Moloney etc those who are more under attack on Dland than others.

I am sure they and we all could be inspired by songs of support.

Keep the passion.

Veteran Demonland Trackwatchers Kev Martin, Slartibartfast & Demon Wheels were on hand at Gosch's Paddock to kick off the official first training session for the 1st to 4th year players with a few elder statesmen in attendance as well. 2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. He showed great resilience in coming back from a nasty rib injury and is expected to continue in that role for another couple of seasons. 2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best.
