New Site features

g'day crew.

it'll take you time to get used to the new site and all it's features. Take your time.

Your "my controls" is your hub of features. You get 50mb of server space to keep photos, music etc.

The Private Msg facility is like an email, and you can Carbon Copy up to 6 people at a time.

You can insert pictures within a post. You can attach documents.

"My Assistant" is also cool.

there's heaps of stuff here, and it will take time. Play hard and enjoy yourself.....

.... and remember, Demonland has a code of conduct, and if you live by the "if you have anything to say, don't post" rule, the standard of debate will be high. B)

and look out for the Quick Reply button. It's smooth.

peace

forgot to mention that for the mods, there's a sweet feature allowing them to merge Threads and Posts, so you'll find we won't have repeat threads constantly.

....there's other features regarding "ignoring" users, that i'll let you lot find out on your own. :)

G'day Fellow Demons Supporters!

Yes this new message board is quite awesome!

Well done Finks and others here at Demonland!

GO DEMONS IN 2006?!

also crew, the Edit function is way smoother here too. Just click on your post's Edit function, and it'll give you a Full Edit and Quick Edit function.

Quick Edit will just open your post with no bells and whistles for you to edit. eg. sometimes you might reply quote accidently and don't want to quote the entire previous post. Just Quick Edit and remove the Quote.

The are a lot of features here that allow you to post clean posts that adds to an overall more enjoyable read of the threads.

Thanks guys loving the new site!!

another item, is if you log on and you want to get rid of all the Orange little squares that advise you of new posts, simply click on "Forum Options" in the right hand corner, and select "Mark forum as read and return".

Jeez, it's gonna take me ages to get my post count up again !!

The site looks good though, more user friendly than the old version !

Do I have to attach pictures to my posts for me to monitor them in My Conrol Panel?

I was thinking - Hey, I can custom make my own signature, upload it to my account and use, or 'host' it from there. But I can't seem to upload anything. The 'manage my attachments' part, in options, just seems to manage things you attach in a post and monitor how much space you have left.

And it says, "You have used 0bytes of 500k."

Plus: File Attachments, Global Space Left: 500k

50mb you say? Music? How would I upload music?

Attaching mp3's to a post now that would be fun!

:D

i believe so.... I haven't experimented with everything yet. And the 500k is the limit i've placed at the moment for attachments withing a post, so MP3 might not fit.

I'm already missing the picture of Chewy!

i'll work something out Jack. Might put him in my Sig, or place the MFC monogram on his chest.

Congratulations on the new site. I look forward to it developping as time goes on and hope that the message board remains as bright and as breezy as ever.

Well done guys!

The new site looks pretty awesome. Well, the message board anyway.

Finks and Nasher,

I am starting to get some comfort with this site and you should be congratulated on your efforts.

If only MFC can make a similar quantum jump in 2006!

yes - I must concur - so far this new message board is looking pretty good! And the advantage of being the 71st member to sign up, is that even with a post count of only 2, I am not miles behind the person with the highest post count ;)

Thanks to all involved...

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
