The FD have some serious work ahead sorting those who can from those that cant or wont from those that might yet still and those that are just list deadwood.

Not as easy as some here seem to make out is it?!

We have guys with tons of talent/credit like Moloney, Davey, Sylvia, Morton, Bennell, Jetta, Petterd etc that could go either way under Neeld, and then we've got guys like Dunn, Bate, MacDonald, Sellar, who are honest triers, but aren't so talented, and that's where I feel the bulk of our changes will come from, rather than the younger brigade, at least this year.

Biggest offseason for us that I can remember, but that's not news to anyone here.

So i gather you rate the Brownlow? Ever since Dipper & Greg Williams shared it i have taken little notice.

Each to their own. The red carpet is given more promotion now anyway!!

Not following you around WYL but he polled well in a lot of media polls as well...

Yes because he smashed up the weak sides & then went missing once the assignment was ramped up.

Got votes against good teams too....

It is a significant bonus clause in a lot of players contracts.

But, hey, you just like the red carpet,

I am sure it is. But i don't believe the umpires are the best judges. They are too busy. The only candidates live in the centre square.

Examples? He was brilliant during 186

He was crook during 186. Another example of ignorance.

Yeah that game was all his fault, everyone else pulled their weight...

Stupid comment even by your recent standards WYL.

Well aware he had the flu Steve. Did he give it to the whole team?

Ridiculous to play him.

Out of the side again this week... The writing is in the wall/

Can't get a game in the weakest Melbourne side in years.

Will be gone at years end.

This is a real enditment on mark neeld.

Tore away his leadership role, stopped his mid year boxing school and couldn't teach him how to play a defensive game.

big loss for Melbourne and a huge win for whoever picks him up for next to nothing/

Mark neeld.... Melbourne supporters are no longer going to accept mediocrity.

Your writing will be on the wall after round 10 next year.

You have a dozen more games to prove yourself to the members otherwise your card will be stamped.

You cannot be serious! What do you think the members can do? The board have made a decision based on a whole lot more knowledge and understanding than you or any of us have about what is needed. When have the members ever been in a position to sack a coach? It's a fairly inane suggestion that Neeld is under any pressure. It's players on the ground who determine whether we win or lose. No amount of coaching will change those who refuse to be changed. The only answer is to move those individuals on.

Personally I think Beamer is a great asset to the club and I'm hoping he can regain some form and come back bigger and better. Having said that, it may be that the game has passed him by and that a whole new set of skills is required to compete at this level. I think it's time for all of the Neeld haters and Beamer critics to take a deep breath, have some faith and give everybody at the club a chance to get on with the jobs they are paid to do. A little faith/trust would go a long way. Rabid calls for indiscriminate sackings aren't going to help turn this club around.

Thanks Stuie. And how do you rate the great Beamer in 2012 playing with this terrible list that is so far behind the rest of the comp???

stuie that day he should not have played he must have known how bad he was.

I cannot be sure because I try Valiantly to forget 186

But I do not think he had 1 possesion that day.

That makes him the worst player that day

Think you need to calm down and focus mate. You're lashing out blaming everyone for everything, maybe work out exactly what it is you're trying to say.

I rate Beamer as an honest trier, a much needed senior body and aggressive ball winner who has struggled with form, a new role, and a shift in what is being asked of him physically in 2012 and should be given the preseason and next year to get it together.

It's not all as dramatic as people like you are wanting to make out.

No argument he was our worse player that day, but to blame him for the result is the height of ridiculousness.

And yes he probably shouldn't have played, but that was the team Dr's decision, have you EVER heard an AFL player ask not to play?

Hahaha! It really is that bad isn't it.

I just don't think a lot of posters on here realize how bad our list is compare to other AFL clubs...we are light years away.

Jones Watts Clark Blease could make it, the rest are all on shaky ground. Trade week will be huge.

No, but it is dramatic for Beamer because he is on very shaky ground.

The role of a midfielder does not change that much regardless of coach.

It is mostly instinct in the middle. Get ball, kick to a team mate in more space.

I think opposition players have totally worked Beamer out.

And he only knows how to play one way.

I am sure i will. But there will be suprises.

Neeld will fight for his job next year.

Ignorance of the highest order. Have you watched ANY footy at all since 1979?

Lots. The game just gets quicker. More instinctive play. But the role is still similiar. The flankers are all but gone but the midfield still dictates possession.
