Game Day Melb v Richmond

Featured Replies

I've watched a lot of footy this year and after seeing that first quarter here at the G that was the least competitive quarter of any team in the league.

We may just be that bad.

Bails kicking is enough for me to say delist him. Provides nothing.

Bennels effort is shocking. As one of our few players with pace it's so frustrating to see poor work ethic and not using his strengths!

Lost cause with players with no skill, decision making or workrate. Stef Martin and spencer are double face palm worthy.

Is this the worse ruck combination in the history of the AFL? I'm struggling to think of any others.

No matter how good or bad remember pick 3 and 4

We've gone backwards this year.

At first it was explained as "learning a new gameplan" but I don't know if I buy that anymore.

We just flat out suck.

I'm going to trial a new method of frustration management: turning the TV off and spending time with my family instead. Never done it before so it'll be interesting.

Its working!...2 goals to Melbourne!

Bennel has not been that bad. Bail is having a shocker!

Great goal Jordie! Go Dees!!!

Jordie has really expanded his game over the course of this season, been impressed with his improvement.

Booooo - that was a goal!

Calling it a goal on the radio.....wtf??

Is it me or does jack watts look like his limping

Where has Chip's intensity gone?! Weak effort in that contest

Why was that 50?

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Essendon

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #3 Christian Salem

Salem proved to be a valuable contributor as a reliable and solid one-on-one medium-sized defender in what was undoubtedly his most impressive season since the premiership year. He remains a highly capable rebounding option for the Demons as he approaches his 200th game at the club.
