Has Garry Lyon's off-field input made the club better or worse off?

Has his input made the club better or worse off?

Isn't he the lad that kicked 7 in a final against Footscray alongside Jakovich?

I'd say better.

I smell troll with a side of flame....

Been on the forum since April 29; that's 12 posts a day.

= troll

One of the old boys. Is doing too well to try to get a job at the club though. Worships Schwab and his public service calibre mates at the club.

Bailey didn't work.

Neeld is not looking much better.

ps. What is a troll?

I cna say this at least...his heart is in teh right place. Time will tell if his decesions have been correct. But remember he hasn't been the sole person making these decisions. Jim and Don also chose Neeld. Malthouse seemed to publicly back Neeld more than Waters too.

We use him as a cheap, highly knowledgeable consultant who is invested in the club and the decisions the club makes.

Sue us.

I think it was 10, and alongside the Ox - Ox's last game at the G before........."the knee" as I recall.

Or have we used him because he is a media personality?

How about the other players?

Why not get other informed and knowledgeable players who are still football active to come together and agree on a coach, ex players like;

Viney

Schwarz

Lovett

Rhode

Lovell

Grinter

Barrassi

for example.

Why does Lyon always have to solve our problems. Maybe he is not up to it.

He doesn't have to help ... but he does.

Maybe it's you who's not up to it as you sit there in the cheap seats taking potshots at a club legend 8 games into a new coach's tenure.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
