Get Matthew Lloyd as a coach?

jumbo returns

Recommended Posts

If we need better assistant coaches then Neil Craig will inform the club.

We have very little idea of how line coaches are travelling. The buck doesn't stop with them, and they aren't the ones floundering on the field.

But I'd take Lloyd.

I'd put the weak-kneed fairy at FF...

I think Royal will be gone next year, and we might even see Greaves step into his position.

I have some personal experience with him and really rate the guy.

I understand the footy dept do too.

Thanks! Great post. Best laugh I've had in years.

You humour too easily.

Lloyd's record is far superior to Leigh Browns. That includes 3 Coleman medals.

People are too quick to write him off as a self-indulgent know-it-all..

I rate him and would welcome him at the Demons.

Matthew Lloyd, the most robotic man imaginable as our coach? I'd rather him come out of retirement to play for us

I think the idea is to possibly have him providing some input.

If I can borrow a line from Rhino Richards, "thanks for missing the point."

I would think the most sensible approach would be to hire a coach that has just left the AFL system

Brown IMO was a good choice

Champion's on the field has very little to do with being able to teach and analyze football

The bulldogs coach is a good example of that

IMO Ling would be the first person i would have approached

It is far from the problem on the field this season

The problem with Melbourne is WORK RATE

When you see it we are competitive when you don't we get smashed

You cannot coach attitude

Ling wanted time away from the game but he would be the first person I would approach next season as midfield coach.

Lloyd's 2 greatest 'acts' of strength would have to be sniping knocking out Sewell, and attempting to knock out Woewodin (but missing and knocking out Blake Caracella instead).

What football advice could he provide? Stand in the goalsquare and get Hird, Long, etc to kick the ball to you and have it hit you on the chest every time.

Also, why on earth would we hire a forward coach when the ball never gets in there, and when it does it is at the feet of the 200cm+ full forward we have bought?

LOL. A bloke who can barely string 2 words together?

Watching his 'reviews' I get the feeling he has written them on a napkin the night before and had a glance through the dictionary as not to sound like a full retard.

This bloke is a waste of space, being a good player doesn't make you a good media analyst. And especially doesn't make you a good coach.

Love,

The Farce

What irony.

Your comments.

Coleman medals, premierships, media career etc.

You?

Even Mick took a long time at Collingwood. And Im sure Neeld talks to his old mate a fair bit.

Mick is apparently around the club. According to his comments during the Geelong game, he's mentoring Davey.

Lets not forget his courage when smashing in the face of Hawthorn 3rd gamer Thurgood with his fibreglass 'arm guard'.

Not sure the kid ever played again.

Not around the club, Davey just meets Mick for a coffee occasionally, usually at his house, from what I have heard.

Get Billy onboard - he can start the 'get your D's out for the Dees' chant again (Yep, in 2005 two girls in a van flashed their boobs after a Demons win at the G and boy did it cap off a good night).

Shows us how little we know about what these guys can and cant deliver.I have always thought of Brownless as a buffoon. Yet Stevie J credits him for single handedly making him the player he is today.Hey Billy - wanna take Col Sylvia under your wing ?

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well
