James Frawley out

Yeah, I heard that too... Three quarter time break at GWS game, it was mentioned. But if he wasn't named in the original side, how can that be?

Pretty sure if the Dees request permission from the Saints, we can bring Mitch in even though he wasn't named an emergency. Although i remember last time Frawley was out, we brought Warnock in without him being an emergency and we got fined, so... not sure.

We can play him, but since he wasn't listed as an emergency we would cop a fine. From memory it's something like $8,000-10,000? Doubt it's worth it to rush him back when he isn't right AND cop a hefty fine in doing so.

So Mitch is out there, Frawley is suspect, Watts is in limbo. Wooow, i goot a good feeling about tonight's game. Carn the Dees!

In good signs this is an opportunity for someone else to take a stand and get noticed. Lets see if that happens.

You ll know we are when u see morton playing as full back

The moment I saw Jones & Moloney starting on the bench at the start of the last qtr last week and Morton started in the guts I thought the tank was on. Also Jones moved to the FP as soon as we started getting on top in the 3rd. I could keep going with strange coaching moves this year but apparently I'm imagining things.

I don't think it's tanking at all.

I think that's giving players exposure to positions where they'll be expected to play in the future.

This will show who's standing & who's squatting.

I'm so disappointed with the recent performances of most of our established and senior players that I don't give a F%#¥ to which of them is playing or not for whatever reason. Just a revolving door of ineptitude. I'm thirsting for blood now in particular fresh young blood coming into the side.

Well, it's been announced that Tapscott is in for Frawley.

I'm a big Tappy fan so I'm happy about this in a twisted kinda way.

And Sylvia is the sub... think a few will NOT be happy about that.

Alot less happy about that, but not altogether surprising with it being his first week back

Could be a real slaughter tonight with those two out. Let's hope we have a dip.

Bench is: Joel Macdonald, Jeremy Howe, James Magner

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.
