Casey Scorpions v North Ballarat

Featured Replies

Great to hear Jamie Bennell's doing well. Is he providing pressure, or getting lots of disposals, or kicking goals, or what?

Glad to hear Spencer is going well. Is he beating Goldstein or breaking even?

[censored], bad news for Couchy. Could mean he never gets an AFL game.

Couch is on the ground

Unbelievable!

Goal for goal as the Roosters lead by a point halfway through the term. Umpires have been friendly to the Scorps this quarter with a couple of frees to Riseley and Lees resulting in handy goals.

Couch is on the ground

lol what the hell? so no broken toe???

Three Quarter Time:

Casey Scorpions 9.8.62

North Ballarat 9.14.68

Casey coming home with the wind the last quarter. Some very good things from rookie Jai Sheahan and Jake Fitzpatrick is playing well. Jamie Bennell was a bit quieter while Couch is Couch. Dan Nicholson's new knickname "the butcher".

Jamie Bennell gets a ripper of a goal to start the final quarter!

Will we have another cliffhanger or can Casey take advantage of the wind and get away from the Roosters?

lol what the hell? so no broken toe???

Possibly his toe nail.

North Ballarat lead by a goal. The wind has not helped the Scorps so far this quarter.

Also is there any danger that the Casey Council could fix the scoreboard at the grandstand end?

I hasn't been working since early last season.

Surely they could get a grant from the PM now that her main interest is in promoting football matches!

Roosters by 5 points. Jamie Bennell hurt.

Bloody hell!

Casey free and shot for goal coming up. Yes! It's Sam Blease who plays on and kicks an amazing snap goal from the boundary at the 36 minute mark. His third goal puts the Scorps up by a point.

Ring the bell for god's sake!

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
