The Heath Shaw Thread

This post has no real solid merit to it, but is more a bit of postulating.

However, with Bucks now at the reins at the Pies, it is a knonwn fact that he stated on the record that he would have cut Heath Shaw when the car crash debacle happened. Now with his 8 week ban for stupidity costing their club pretty dearly with an interupted lead up to the finals, do you think that Bucks will be floating Shaw as trade bait?

Would love to see him at the dees, regardless of the off filed stuff, his on field work is first rate.

Highly doubt it considering the form and commitment he showed after the ban.

If he was floated many clubs would be jostling for his services.

would be a powerful force having both blease and shaw coming off the backline but unfortunately unless bucks has a vendetta against him i doubt we would get him.

I think they would hope for a smooth transition for their Key personnel. So I doubt it. But who knows after next year as the transition is moving on.

I think Bucks would look to his list after one year to see who's fresh, and who's dragging the heels.

Nah. At Melbourne he wouldn't get close to so many friendly decisions from the umps. I don't know how good he'd be if they actually called him on holding the ball and running too far.

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

As the focus of the AFL moves exclusively to South Australia for Gather Round, the question is raised as to what are we going to get from the  Melbourne Football Club this weekend? Will it be a repeat of the slop fest of the last three weeks that have seen the team score a measly 174 points and concede 310 or will a return to the City of Churches and the scene where they performed at their best in 2024 act as a wakeup call and bring them out of their early season reverie?  Or will the sleepy Dees treat their fans to a reenactment of their lazy effort from the first Gather Round of two years ago when they allowed the Bombers to trample all over them on a soggy and wet Adelaide Oval? The two examples from above tell us how fickle form can be in football. Last year, a committed group of players turned up in Adelaide with a businesslike mindset. They had a plan, went in confidently and hard for the football and kicked winning scores against both home teams in a difficult environment for visitors. And they repeated that sort of effort later in the season when they played Essendon at the MCG.
